my friend and i had a very lovely stay! the host was amazing, providing us with whatever we needed (except soap and toothbrush). location is great, a quick tram ride (or you could walk) to the city centre. it's a bit dusty, but there is reconstruction in the house. a supermarket nearby for food if you want to cook, but i recommend you ask the host to prepare a traditional bordeaux meal! she is a fantastic cook! just a very lovely old and traditional house to stay in :)

Amazing family, cooked us authentic Bordeaux food which really enhanced the trip and our experience of Bordeaux
I didn't know the concept of chambre d'hôte before, but it is more than worth trying it. You basically stay at the lovely home of your host. You get your own room with bathroom and can cook at the shared kitchen. The landlady is very charming and offers a great dinner a la bordelaise for little money. It was the BEST food ever that we ate in France! You certainly have tor try it for yourself and a spend a splendid evening!
The host is very nice and welcoming and the location isn't too bad. Our problem with the place was that dishes, a microwave and a place to eat is provided but there really wasn't a place to clean the dishes other than the bathroom sink. Also the bathroom floor as well as the shower had black mold in it! The whole room was very " musty" and damp as it' s located in a really old basement. Would not recommend staying here.
If you want a taste of the local flavor you must stay here. Ask Marie-Claude to cook for you. The price is excellent and you probably will not get a better taste of traditional Bordeaux cuisine anywhere else. The room is spacious, the staff is wonderful, and although the location isn't right in the city center, the tram is less than a 5 minute walk away.
Arrival in a road that reeked of dead animals and bins . Poor area of the city .Room was dark and depressing. Crumbling plaster, old furniture, unnecessary furniture in room- 2 put up beds, stacks of children's toys. Horrible old crockery that no one would like to make a drink with. Cheap pot pourri bags in tiny shower room/ toilet that desperately needed re decorating/ renovating. The owner was keen for us to eat an evening meal but after seeing her kitchen and hygiene we wouldn't consider it.

Lovely owner took really good care of us. beautiful private room with ensuite! towards the end of a tram line but easy enough to get to. close to the river with plenty of restaurants nearby.
This was great break from the hustle and bustle. We only stayed here for a night at the lady that owns the house was so sweet and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. She also made a huge authentic meal for us for 25 euro, which at first we thought was really pricey, but ended up being worth it!
