The Chanteclair was perfect... we were two girls on vacation for the weekend, and we were very comfortable in a standard room, the couple who run the place are very kind and the location can't be beat. A superb spot to stay in Cannes! The Chanteclair was perfect... we were two girls on vacation for the weekend, and we were very comfortable in a standard room, the couple who run the place are very kind and the location can't be beat. Location is excellent, only a short walk to the port, film festival hall and beach. It was also reasonably clean. However, the shared bathroom, is really a cupboard which has been converted into a toilet with no window. No air-con in our room which is essential especialy when visiting in the middle of the summer. Another problem we had was that part of the shower door in our room was missing - & as we only discovered this after reception closed we could'nt complain. Also no lift! The location was great! 7 min walk to the beach and 5 min to downtown with lots of bars and restaurants. We had a shower in our room and hall style toilet. There was no air conditioning and the room was VERY HOT, but I think thatīs pretty standard. The woman at the desk didnīt speak much English at all, but it wasnīt a problem and we still managed to communicate with her enough (we didnīt know any French). DO NOT STAY HERE! On arrival we were told to wait til the female owner came back from the beach to check us in. After 1hr waiting in the sun we were told theyd double booked us and had no room! She eventually gave us a spare room and told us we wouldve to move the next night into yet another room. No rooms have an aircon or fan - it was 38 degrees during the day and 30 at night! The owners were rude and couldnt have cared less. The toilet is in the cupboard + the rooms have never been cleaned.DO NOT STAY HERE! We had to leave our bedroom door open which wasnt very safe and also only being able to check in early in the morning or late afternoon wasnt very helpful! it was the most expensive place we stayed at and the worst accomodation! the directions on this website to the hostel arnt correct from the train station and we found it very difficult to find. the bathroom smelt of urine and there were no electricity plugs to useWe had to leave our bedroom door open which wasnt very safe and also only being able to check in early in the morning or late afternoon wasnt very helpful! it was the most expensive place we stayed at and the worst accomodation! the directions on this website to the hostel arnt correct from the train station and we found it very difficult to find. the bathroom smelt of urine and there were no electricity plugs to use...Close

We had to wait 3 hours to check in because the receptionist left in the middle of the day, despite our reservation showing that we would be coming that afternoon. Our room had an ant infestation. The receptionist only speaks French so if you don\'t you\'ll need to bring a good phrase book. The hotel has a great location though, 5 minute walk to the beach and shopping areas.
