Hostel is okay but not more. Rooms are clean the staff at the beginning verd helpful after the weekend more hanged over then working. Our laundry got forgotten and the kids of the owner run around on 6am while the mom shouts through the house. Very noisy!
I got what I was expecting for $4.50 a night. It was nice to have a single private room for that price, and Wi-Fi was included. However, my room was smelly and the bathroom and kitchen often weren't clean. Also, no common room for socializing. Good enough if you're on a very tight budget, but Banos has hundreds of other places to stay so it's worth it to shop around once you get there.
The hostel is very near the bus station and everything else. The staff is very helpful, they advise you about trips you can do and provide you with maps. Kitchen is quite equipped but could do with some cleaning. We stayed four nights and got our laundry done for free which was great. There are some amazing views from the roof terrace - great when you're having breakfast. Overall very good value for money and good choice if you want to spend money for adventure not for accommodation.
