This was by far the best value hostel we've stayed in, in Bangkok. Paying a couple of extra dollars meant we got a secure locked room, free internet, air conditioning and free breakfast. The location of this hostel is a real winner as well right in the middle of khao San road but just far enough down so you don't get the noise. Definatley stay here again!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Charoendee! We booked 4 nights and would have stayed longer if time had permitted. It is basic, but clean and the staff are helpful and kind. The location is wonderful because it is set in the back of Khao San Road and gives you a little bit more privacy and quiet when you want/need it. We would definitely book a room at this hostel again!

Very good all round! All staff of about 10 were very friendly except one guy who was very rude and tried to short change me. I had to show the menu of prices until he gave the correct money

It is exactly what you are paying for. It's not the cleanest place in the world but it's not terrible. The staff were nice but some spoke very little English. It was right on khao San road, convenient and busy which meant food was always accessible and anything else your heart desires. The free breakfast made up for everything! Simple but well worth it after months without toast and Jam.

Great location on Khao San Rd, the common room is a bit small and you don't really meet anyone there buy you meet plenty of people out on Khao San Rd each night.

All in all no problems in that place. We left our luggage there, since we had a bus in the evening. When we wanted to leave they charged us, since the luggage was left there after 15 O'clock. Most of the time we were there, too...

This is great value for money right on koh San road but the rooms are set back a bit so the noise didnt bother us. It is quite humid in Bangkok so the fan was nice and staff were helpful as we had our own cereal and they were happy to provide a bowl and spoon. The shared bathroom sink drained onto the feet (there was no connecting pipe) so that was a little frustrating but you learnt to deal with it and there are worse things to be worried about.

This is an excellent guesthouse. The location is really good, mega convenient, and the staff are both friendly and knowledgeable. Their English is great, too. Very clean also. I'll be back! Many thanks.

Great location, in the middle of khaosan rd, but in a peacefull area. The room are ok for the price you pay, its a great value. Breakfast basic but ok. The younglady on the morning is really nice as well as the othef one here on the evening. I would recommend this hostel just for the location.

It's in a great location, especially if you want to party. I booked the single room with a fan but Bangkok is too hot for just a fan. You hear music until 4am which I was fine with but the heat was too much. Also, your feet get wet since sink in bathroom has no pipe, so the water goes straight to the floor.

Very neat hostel, almost has a victorian feel to it. The front desk staff was great. I really enjoyed here, and sad we could only stay one night. Only complaint was the lack of piping beneath the sink, so everything you wash or spit(such as toothpaste) just falls onto your feet. But hopefully this was just a repair. I would definitely stay here again though!

I only stayed one night in Charondee Hostel. I booked a private room, which was quite small but with a big bed and only fan, so it got pretty hot at night. The location is perfect, just at Kao San Road, and I didnt have any problems with noises, it was nice and quiet in my room. Its ideal if you just need a place to sleep and dont intend to stay in your room the whole day. Staff was really nice and helpful, and i think i got a good deal for the money i paid.

My friends and I had a really enjoyable 3 night stay at Charoendee. It's right dead in the middle of Khao San Road (down a short alley) but surprisingly really quiet at night. You can be a part of all the action then get a good nights sleep as well. Our 3-person room had its own bathroom and even air conditioning! The staff was kind of quiet but really helpful and really sweet. There's not a big common area, so perhaps not the best place to meet people, but we still made friends anyways!

Really nice rooms with enough windows and space. Dont look extremely particular in every bathroom corner and you will definitely enjoy your stay. Nice and friendly staff!

There's no pipe on the sink so your spitting your tooth paste pretty much on your feet, there's one shower with a toilet in it so if someone is showering you can not pee. the rooms were spacious enough for the one night we were there for traveling onwards.... The directions are not clear to the place and you walk past the sign...
