The hostel is a bit of a walk from the town centre, luckily we had a car but travellers without a car might find it in a bit of an inconvenient location. The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful, but unfortunately the whole hostel was quite run down - it was very dark and gloomy. The bathrooms were mouldy and there was limited hot water, also the wifi was broken. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone.
Had an enjoyable stay unfortunately the radiator in the room we stayed in (Muck) didn't appear to work so the room was cold.

bed sheets were very old and had stains on them no lockers for personal stuff
Cute hostel. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Room was clean and bed was nice. Bit of an older hiker crowd and no younger travelers, which was a bit disappointing, but everyone was very nice and friendly. Kitchen was quite nice and well stocked. Very nice common room stocked with games and cards.
only 3 functioning showers in a hostel with the capacity of 40 people. 2 of the three showers run out of hot water very fast
Very Old Hostel, like most of the guests ;) Located far away from the center of Fort William it's easy to reach if you have a car but not if you're a Backpacker. Beds are good but old bathrooms with bath and definitely not many enough (you have to get up early to catch one). On the other hand check-out is at 10am so in any case you get up early Also, I can't understand how the wifi can still be charged in 2015... And that commercial offer "Breakfast+Wifi 4.5 pound"....seriously !!!!
Nice friendly staff and decent beds/rooms, but the WiFi was extremely unreliable, to the point that it would have been a dealbreaker for me (I'm working remotely). Also a bit far from town and Ben Nevis but still walkable.
Does what it says on the tin.
Lovely place, it's a bit far away from the mountains but the view more than made up for it. Wifi was a bit spotty the first night but was fine the next day. Overall a great experience and I would visit again.

Hostel needs to improve their wifi connection. And the thing with sheets can be really annoying - just get normal ones like everyone else guys. Kitchen was great though and overall it can be sleeping point for some travellers before Ben Navis climb (but if you're looking to spend time in Fort William, you can find something closer maybe).
first of all it met my needs for the night, friendly and helpful girl at reception, clean and welcoming, great location, would come back again and recommend to anyone.
The hostel is in a desperate need of refurbishment and modernisation, as it is its impossible to maintain hygienic environment. The person on staff is very kind and helpful but she is placed in a position of serving customers and cleaning the substantial building by herself, an impossible task. The owner definitely needs to invest in basic upgrades to create easy to clean surfaces and another person on staff or a cleaning crew.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect! You can see Ben Nevis from the hostel and the famous Neptune's staircase is just around the corner as is the rail station Banavie, from where you can get everywhere else, e.g. Fort William, Glenfinnan.. We didn't like that they don't change the bed linen and you only get a white sheet to cover the linen. If the hostel is busy there is no warm water. Altogether it is a nice hostel though!
+ Great Breakfast, very comfortable living rooms and friendly personal. - It was so incredible cold everywhere in the hostle, you nearly had to wear your coat inside the house.

The bathrooms would need a refurbishment. Rooms are ok, staff friendly and helpful. All extras are charges extra like internet. Not in Fort William centre
Great wee place to get you head down We stayed here as the rest of the hostels near Ben Nevis were All booked out it's about 7 miles from the start of Ben Nevis We had the car so wasn't a problem The staff here were very friendly I would use this hostel again
Good place to stay, friendly welcome, good atmosphere, would recommend for sure.
My stay at Chase The Wild Goose Hostel was fantastic! I was backpacking around the UK, and wanted to see some of the highlands. This hostel was everything I needed! It showed up in the search results for Fort William, but is actually in a town called Banavie about a 15 minute bus ride away. I was traveling by rail and there is a train station right in Banavie a short walk away from the hostel. The staff were extremely friendly and helped with some recommendations of things to do in the area.
We were so pleased there. I can recommend it to everybody!
The place was great...it is an older house/hotel refitted as a youth hostel (shows its age) though in great condition, couple of brand new bathrooms...the beds were very comfortable and clean/comfortable sheets...wifi and breakfast not free (should be for the price)...incredible staff!! Location is perfect for hikers and climbers with Ben Nevis and the Cadelonia Canal (Neptunes Staircase) right across the street...
