the hostel could benefit from a drying room as this is the Outdoor capital of the UK

It's a bit out of town but there are close bus connections but ideally you would have your own car. The quite area with the fireplace is a nice place to relax at the end of the day. The kitchen is ok except for the fact that a lot o the pans are warped and do not make proper contact with the cook top. It would be better if the wifi work in the rooms not just the common area.

Nice place and well situated!! jz minutes walk to neptunes stairs :) However, we reached at 3pm and tried calling the number(*we also informed in advanced that we will be reaching around that time)...but no one picked up the phone and we were forced to wait till 5pm to check in :( Apart from that, its well recommended! :)

For 15 quid a night I was not expecting a palace so I was I feel it was more than value for money. As a 50 something I was pleasantly surprised at the cosy informal atmosphere and comraderie of the staff and other guests. There was a varied cross section of the touring community staying on the night of my visit and it was heartening to find a happy positive group of people with little or no concern for racial or social differences.

A little bit far from the town centre, so it is quiet to stay here. The room is on average, not bad. The staff is nice and helpful, I quite enjoyed my stay . Thank you.

We had a fantastic stay here, staff were superb. Loads of info for walkers and the outdoors enthusiasts amongst us. Its only a very short drive from Fort William and very well placed to start the Nevis path. Thanks for having us!!

Except for a bit away from the center (which I personally quite liked) I found absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff were very helpful, there was plenty of stuff for breakfast & the environment was very friendly indeed. Thanks for the wonderful week!

the only probem was all the bedroom doors slam closed, so from about 5am when people started to get up, the doors where going, which wasnt good.

Room gloomy, needs painting, sheet sleeping bags completely ripped therefore useless, beds cannot be clean. Keys fit more than one room lock therefore security poor. Bedroom needed painting, some bathrooms in bad condition. One kitchen sink only. Reception staff pleasant but a little vague. This hostel definitely needs an overhaul and some attention to detail. I would not stay again. Come on Scotland get your act together, the hostelling experience should be much better!

We thought that light intrusion through the glass panel above the dorm door into the bedrooms from the hall lighting could wake you up at night - easily solved either by putting blackout blinds over the glass or painting it matt black.
