This is the nearest hostel to the Nevis Range Ski area!! with free on-site car parking (and free over-flow nearby), a huge drying room and a lovely log fire to come home to, when the weathers really cold!

Chase the Wild Goose Hostel at Banavie, by Fort William in the Scottish Highlands is a comfortable, well equipped hostel on the road to the Isles and the Backpackers Trail! This hostel in Banavie Fort William offers visitors an ideal base for relaxing in beautiful surroundings, for exploring the hills, the glens, the villages and lochs of the Scottish Highlands. They have been awarded a 4 star rating by Visit-Scotland!

Enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits, including walking the sunlit forest tracks and paths nearby, cycling the Great Glen Cycle Route (cycles are available for hire locally, and there is excellent secure cycle storage for your own bikes,) mountain biking at the World mountain-biking circuits on Aonach Mor and along the still shores of the Caledonian Canal and quiet back-roads. Or maybe go for an invigourating climb up Ben Nevis, the UKs highest mountain.

Walk the West Highland Way or the Great Glen Way- two must-walk, long distance footpaths beginning and ending at Fort William! Experience the abundance of wildlife that inhabits the forests, hills and lochs. Pine-martin, red deer, roe deer and common seals are regularly seen - and bird watching - the majestic golden eagle, red kite and osprey.

Why not visit the Treasures of the Earth exhibition at nearby Corpach, or taste a drop (or two) of whisky at the Ben Nevis Distillery. Learn of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite rebellion at Glenfinnan, board the cable car at Aonach Mhor for fantastic Highland views , take a journey on a steam train along the railway of the Harry Potter films, and sail on the loch to spot wildlife.

From the doorstep of the hostel you can visit the famous Neptunes Staircase on the Caledonian Canal - the longest staircase lock in the United Kingdom. Enjoy a superb meal or drink at the Moorings hotel (100m), a pub meal at the Lochy bar (200m) or venture into Fort William (£6.00 by taxi) for some Scottish music.

Accommodation is in comfortable solid pine bunk beds, in rooms from four to eight persons. We have a total of 49 beds in the hostel - more than released onto the internet.
