Party place, real backpackers hostel, but not enough bathrooms and toilets, which are pretty dirty as well, free breakfast was nice thing (toasts with jam and/or muesli with milk) and free wifi, just if you don't enjoy party atmosphere till 4 am you won't like it
vary nice spot, rustic lounge area and a short walk to everything in town. staff very helpful and booked rides for us with no hassle. Will definitely go back.
Facilities were a bit dated and the kitchens were pretty dirty...particularly from the guests leaving dishes/food everywhere. However, that part is less the hostel's fault. On the positive side, free wifi throughout the complex, multiple kitchens/lounges to utilize, a nice big deck, easy shuttle/bus access, helpful staff, and of course the free breakfast/soup is always a plus
Amazing atmosphere and very good hostel wit free breakfast, free soup, free wifi, free Spa... Best hostel I stayed in! Don't hesitate to go!
Best hostel in NZ so far - loved the common room, free dinner and breakfast and the spa... Staff extremely helpful
Free WiFi, free soup and breakfast (don't be late or it will all be gone!), free international landline phone calls. Good location, nice kitchen.
Great hostel! They did a BBQ cookup in the evening for just $5, and later on there was even a complementary shuttle service to a local bar in a limmo! The free soup was a bonus too, and the staff had great suggestions on what to do in the area.
Great hostel to stay ay: pretty nice activities were organized, friendly staff, good location, really enjoyed my stay!

Great staff, sociable and friendly. And free soup! Excellent!!!
Great location. However the kitchen was dirty and lacking a good stock of items. The fridges were completely full and filthy and in some fridges the shelves had been removed and that severely reduced the amount of available to space. The bathrooms were disgusting and there were not enough bathrooms for the amount of people staying.
This is a big, busy hostel with lots of guests. As a solo traveller I found it hard to break the ice
Stayed here as had heard good things. All good. Friendly staff. Good location, great setup
We stayed in a private double room which was just what we needed after a number of nights in dodgey dorm rooms on our travels! Great location, dvd hire (we had a TV in our room=what a luxury!), free breaky, soup and cupcakes were the icing on top!
This place was just OK. Glad I was in an ensuite room with a small kitchen. Bathroom/shower wasn't that awesome. Like nearly every other hostel, not enough power outlets in the dorm room. Beds comfortable enough. Not here long enough to comment on the atmosphere or other aspects of the hostel.
The Love Shack was really cute, but the second night was really cold. The bathroom are not really clean. The location is great and the staff nice.
This place was amazing!!!!!!!!!! It had the best little rustic vibe, and the decorations were amazing! They offer free breakfast AND soup and goodies in the night, which was a good dinner to be honest! The staff is very helpful, always happy to answer questions and give good advice on what tours to take (or not to take!)! The shuttle service to and from the glacier walks was really good too and one of the walks even leads back to the town centre - where the hostel is!
Great hostel and nice atmosphere, free soup and breakfast are a bonus.... Showers are a bit poor though!
