Simply ridiculous, I booked the hostel and when I got there, surprisingly, the place was closed with a note on the door saying "CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS" witch made me walk through the streets for almost 3 hours attempting to find a budget and affordable hostel, again, ridiculous!

Perhaps the atmosphere when there are other people staying here makes up for the poor facilities (the grim bathroom, many fans and internet broken) but as I was staying here seemingly alone, I wouldn't come back unfortunately. Location however is good for beach, certainly for the price

He only place where you can be robe in koh Samui. Not recomendable at all... And its to far from the e cita center...

The only reason I don't rate this hostel is because I met some cool people here. The hostel is kind of a sh!thole. Really dirty. Needs a total renovation. The manager tried to rip me off and claim that I have to pay him the 10% deposit I paid to HW. I argued with him and only after threatening him did he stop trying to rip me off. Just a really shady hostel. If it wasn't for the people I met, I would have left and paid for a hotel!

if you want to meet fellow travellers then this is the place to be. the location is also pretty good. on the downside the hostel is dirty - i stayed 3 nights and didn't see it get cleaned once. the showers/toilets smell and the water comes out yellow. i also know of people getting things stolen

location is pretty good. other than that, it was pretty bad. not clean, the water from the showers was yellow. a lot of stuff got stolen. not very safe, people can just walk in without anyone noticing. one night a guy even brought a prostitute to the room.

This was one of the worst hostels I've stayed during my 5 month trip. The toilet and shower were absolutely horrible. They said that they will renovate it soon, but I doubt it. I wanted to check out at 8am, but nobody was there. So I didn't get my deposit back. I would not recommend staying here.

Please don't stay here. 3 of us were robbed on the last night, money, camera's, laptops, credit cards. The host's response was awful, a few minutes after i told him, i saw him on facebook?! His cat bled all over the cushions, the showers water was yellow and smelt bad. One day the door was wedged open, we walked in, dropped some stuff off, got changed and left without being seen once. no surprise we were robbed. Talking to other travelers, i found out people have been here robbed before!

Renovate the bathroom! and maybe get more fans? but your lounge area, the easily accessible food in the fridge, and the safety book to read are all great things.

Great location as a couple minutes walk from beach, and strip of shops and bars. This does mean it was a bit noisy at times as could hear the traffic/ music on the road, the room was very hot as only had fans that weren't that strong. Staff were really friendly though, and the ‘dirty’ bathroom which other reviewers have talked about, really wasn’t that bad at all. There is no lock for the dorm room and we heard of people having bags stolen, but you just have to be careful and lock valuables up

it was a lot of fun, but there were only 2 bathrooms, one was flooded and unusable while the other one was pretty damp all the time. Still there were heaps of movies up stairs and Tent was amazing! We had a great time and met some awesome people

Tent the owner was very helpful, and as a solobacpaker it's a great place to meet ppl. Word of advice, if u dont want to party go somewhere else as I was the only person trying to sleep and it was like 5am. Overall v cool hostel, but samui as an island was a disappointment.

No AC in Koh Samui made it for a very hot hostel. Was definitely on the roughing it scale of hostels.

Very noisy at night and along way from the bar area. good connections to the beach. The atmosphere was good-has a good communal area and everyones does things together. The owner was nice/ The bathrooms were horrible-and i mean horrible-the water came out yellow. The fan in the small room didnt come close to keeping you cool enough at night!Needs aircon!!

not unlike many other dorms. location is fine. beds are fine. the other travelers are what make it good. ready made friends make for a good atmosphere. Tent, the manager, is very lovely and accommodating. my biggest pet peeve was with the washroom cleanliness. i'm sure by the time you read this the problem will have been fixed, but while i was there, the washrooms seemed to be not maintained at all. clogs left pools of standing water, soaking towels lay in the corner, matted hair, etc.

I love Chaweng Beach Backpackers Hostel!!! Tenh the manager is a legend ;) Helped me a lot when I arrived (including finding me lost on the street because it is really hard to find) Really small, only two dorms with 8 and 4 beds but a chill out area upstairs, two bathrooms (not the best, the water was dirty when i was there!) and a cool balony from where you can watch the street. Sometimes its really loud but you go out anyway. Felt like in a family!!! :)

Very "rustic" but what do you want when staying at a backpackers hostel?! Great location, staff were lovely, just don't expect great bathrooms. Would go back!
