Good location and helpful staff (particularly Melissa) but hostel layout does not do you any favours if your room is close to the common area. No noise restrictions and no locks on the dorm doors. There were people checking in at all hours of the morning and people were partying in the common area until 2.30am. No hot water in showers and no change at reception.
Che Buzios** great great staff!! i had a wonderful stay, love everything about this hostel!!

This hostel is very close to the two main streets where are located all the good restaurants, bars and nightlife. I stayed in a mixed dorm with 12 beds, the dorm was clean, including the bathroom. There was a problem with the toilet but since we had communicated to the staff it was fixed quickly. The atmosphere is very nice, the hostel made karaokê, dinner.

Pretty quiet whilst I was there so not much of an atmosphere. Breakfast was normal for Brazil, bread, ham, cheese etc. Rooms were good and clean, also has a pool which is nice in the heat. Close to main beach but better beaches a short bus ride away and bus stop is just around the corner.
Nice and clean place, with large dorms. We booked a dorm for 12 persons and was very satisfied when we discovered that the we had two separate bedroom, for 6 persons in each room. The hostel was very quiet and there was not much going on in the evening, a bit disappointing. The location is great, near the bus station and near the city centre. Beakfast was poor, sugar overload consisting of jam, white bread, cakes, chocolate and two types of melon.
Our 5 bed dorm was right next to the common area: very noisy. The STAFF made a lot of noise in the night and early dawn. Security was poor. We had a bracelet to get in the hostel, but our dorm didn´t have a key. While we were in the common area people went in our dorm 3 times. During the night a guy oppened the door and peeked inside. The reservation made by hostelworld dind´t register in the hostel, but there were beds available. The toilet flush kept running all night long making noise.

Very nice hostel and a great setup. The only downside for our visit was that we went in off-season and there weren't that many people there. However, definitely has lots of potential. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful.
Facilities are good but there was no atmosphere whatsoever. Staff were not very helpful besides outlining the basics in the map the first day. The kitchen is closed most of the evening so we couldn't cook, unless it was really early before dinner. The pool is tiny and always in the shade, don't be mislead by the pictures.
Very good hostel, also the room! the staff were great! i really recommend this hostel! i definetly will come back again, just you need to pay 5 real for internet and if you're in a group all of them must pay!. even i'm not interested to use it.
Good value for money ... The music was too loud to sleep if you are tired during the day.
Awesome hostel, the only bad thing is it's very pricey compared 2 other hostels.
Excellent location, cozy hostel but the room was too small. The breKfast should be orginized differently in order not to cause lines
I didnt like the mixed room, it is in front of the swiming pool and, cause the parties, that is really noisy. Actually the rooms door was broke and there are only two lokers for 5 beds, the both was broke too.
I spent twenty days between Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande and Buzios, and in that time I have been in six hostels approx. The Che Lagarto Buzios was the best. It is very clean, the staff people are always in a good mood and the place is very comfortable, the rooms and public areas.
A nice hostel behind big security gates, a 15 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to town centre. Staff are all super friendly at this hostel and made my stay much more comfortable. I was a little taken aback that the other guests were all South American and hence didn't have many people to speak English with. Although the staff, particularly Jeronemo and Mercedes, were wonderful and very inclusive. Jeronemo's caiparinhas were also second to none - delicioso!
It's close to the center of the town, and also the beach, though not the nicest beach of all. Has a pool, but it wasn't usable when we got there. Otherwise, very nice hostel.
Che Lagarto is a very good place to stay. The atmosphere is excelent specially during dinner times as just can eat and drink at evenings. The only bad thing is they don´t have potable water as it comes from a well so the pool looks very uncleaned. They should improve that. The rest, just excelent.
I was very disappointed with the cleanliness. We were 8 friends, staying in a 12 people mixed room, and there was only one bathroom for all the 12 people. So, the bathroom was all the time dirty and messy. It was so disgusting for me, having to use that bathroom. All the girls felt the same and even the boys agreed it was very unpleasant. The rest in the hostel is ok. Nothing special. The atmosphere is very cheerful, but sometimes it might be not very good, once people partied untill late.
We stayed in the 11 room dorm mixed. The toilet and sink were clogged during our entire stay even after maintenance coming to "fix".Our second night the shower didn't work and we were told to use the bathroom in the reception or in another room. Not sure if I would stay again. The staff was helpful and friendly and location awesome!
Great hostel in a great location. Would stay here again.
