Stayed at the Lima hostel. Great location and really good breakfast compared to other hostels. Pretty clean as well. With that said, when we returned to the hostel after Cusco, they charged us $4 more US dollars per night per person for the EXACT same room we had stayed in days before, alleging we had not made reservations (even though there was plenty of room). It felt like they thanked us for coming back to Che lagarto by overcharging us 50%. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time.
Excellent location near the parque central in Miraflores. Quiet as bedrooms away from the community areas. Spacious. Hot showers.
The staff were very friendly and helped me to get where I was going, and showed me some things to do. Things were pretty quiet when I was there, so there wasn't much of a party. Breakfast was cereal, toast and jam, some fruit and coffee/tea. I liked how they had these sort of lockers under the beds where you could lock your pack away. The value for money was excellent. I would recommend this place to people looking to stay in Miraflores for a couple of days.
The room we reserved before was not available, they said that they made a mistake because the guy who accepted the reservation was new and didn't know the prices! ...and they offered us a double-priced room. The stuff was not polite, in fact they make us feel very unwelcome. Room not clean, no hot water at the shower, the wifi didn't work properly. I don't recommand this hostel.
