Nice hostel in Paraty, just a few 100 meters from the main square. Showers were awesome. The dinner offered from the hostel was cheap and the food was good. Also, the tours offered from the hostel were fun and cheap.
Great location, lots of space and a cool atmosphere. Within a short walking distance to the city center and to the bus station, super convenient. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. Only disadvantage was the wifi quality, but its not too bad at all.
Excellent ! Very nice hostel. Good for relax.
The hostel was very clean and the staff were incredibly helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the live music and the general atmosphere of this hostel. My few criticisms would be that the breakfast was a little scarce with not much choice when compared to other hostels I have stayed in in Brazil for the same price. The kitchen for everyone to use was a little small with few utensils for the size of the hostel but it was clean so I couldn’t complain too much.
Do NOT use trasfer service to Rio de Janeiro. It took 7 hours. It supposed to be take 4.5hours. I transfered van one time at Ilha Grande and waited a little.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel and glad I stayed three nights. Paraty was awesome, so much to do, and this was a great home base. I stayed in a suite and the staff on the suites side was so so good! I also did a Jeep Tour which was amazing and well worth it... a highlight of my trip to Brazil. Breakfast was good. Great atmosphere, great dinner deals, live music. Loved it all!
I had an excellent stay at Che Lagarto. Staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and great fun. The location was perfect and facilities were spot on with such a reasonable price .

GREAT place to stay with amazing staff that will go that extra mile To help you out! I would stay there Again with no doubt! Lovely place with a great atmosphere. Had an amazing time There.
I had a great experience at the hostel with two other friends. Location was great, people very friendly and such a nice atmosphere! Unfortunatelly I had a big problem with the transfer the hostel proposed totally different of what they were proposing to be! We had to pay R$1400,00 for a suposed mini van for 15 people. Finally it arrived a mini van for 11 people, really tinny and not confortable at all, which had an external trunk. So I definetally don't recommend this service.

Very cool atmosphere! Music and cheap food and drinks.
Amazing staff(!!!), good loc. , ok breakfast, hot water, the rooms r not super spacey but all in all a great place. definitely would come back here.
Had a great stay at Che Lagarto; atmosphere is very lively & an easy place to meet people and organize some fun! The staff are so friendly and kind (Julian was amazing and took care of a small issue in such a quick and efficient manner- was very impressed ) The hostel is clean, large and very beautiful. thanks for the fun times :)
Been to a couple other hostels in Paraty and this was by far the best. Good rooms, comfy beds, lots of sockets, key cards for each room. Atmosphere was good, easy to meet people if solo. Bar was good but a tad expensive. Location is good as very close to the main road but also a few mins away from the historical bit. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
We stayed in a 6 dorm room on the first floor of this rather large and busy hostel. The bunk beds had lockable compartments beneath the bottom bed and some shelving. Only useful if you have a padlock which we didn't but good for getting our clunky backpacks out everyone's way. The bathroom was clean but with a very small mirror - girls need bigger mirrors! ;) No towels provided but plenty of hot water and soft blankets for cold nights. The communal areas have a small pool, a pool table and bar
Great location, walking distance to old town, bus station, beach and super market. Breakfast was pretty good for a hostel - some cereal, fresh rolls, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Lockers under beds are spacious . Only bad thing was lack of a proper bathmat which meant water was stepped through the whole bathroom and dorm room. Made everything muddy and dirty.
This is a FIVE stars Hostel. I have been to 148 countries and slept in hostels all around the world but this Che Legarto was just amazing. Best value for money,Key cards for the rooms, good wifi, nice comfortable beds, spacious rooms and the best breakfast ever. The staff were really nice and informative....thanks Gabrielle for the excellent tourist information on South America. The guys from CHL are setting Standard for Hostelling International....Please open Hostels in Europe and Asia...
great, relaxed hostel with a cool staff. great value for your money! no complaints, the vibe is great here!
Really nice hostel & great staff, they even helped carry our bags for us. The atmosphere there is lovely & really nice if you're travelling alone. Breakfast is also substantial. One small thing but not a huge deal, they don't have towels to rent so good idea to bring one. Excellent all round hostel
Had an amazing stay here for a week in October. The facilities were great, rooms were awesome, lively and fun bar. Big thanks to Julian, Gabriela, Daniel and especially Mauro. The atmosphere is great here and the staff are more than willing to give a hand organising tours and giving tips on what to do in Paraty. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Paraty. Thanks again guys. See you next time. Cheers, Michael Lofts.
