Che Lagarto is the largest chain of private hostels in South America. We have hostels at all the best destinations and we pride ourselves on giving our guests the best experience possible. With more than 15 years under our belt, we currently have more than 20 hostels in 5 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay and Chile.

We are located at 131, Diego Portales St. Miramar, Vina del Mar. Its a residential zone, a few steps away from Agua Santa Street, three blocks from Caf Journal Bar and near to El Reloj Flores and Caleta Abarca beach. You can walk to San Martn Avenue, where you will find the Casino, bars and restaurants.

Directions to Hostel
From the Airport: You can hire a TRANSFER through the hostels reception. Another option, from Santiago airport, is to take a bus to the Bus Station Pajaritos and then another bus to Via del Mar.

From the Bus Station (Vina del Mar): You can hire a TRANSFER through the hostels reception. Another option is to take bus No.7 or No. 97 in Arlegui Street (1 block from the bus station) and get off at Agua Santa St. and Diego Portales. Otherwise, you can walk through the bus station towards the sea, to reach the intersection of Valparaiso with Viana Av., walk through Agua Santa to Diego Portales 131 (half a block, on your right).

Check-Out: until 11.00 hs

* Half of the daily rate will be charged for late check out between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. After 2:00 PM a full daily rate will be charged. The hostel has luggage storage.

Cancellation Policy
This property has a 2 day (48hs) cancellation policy.
Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.

During special periods like Carnival, New Year and holidays:
100% of the payment is required in advance
If the booking is canceled 30 days before the check-in date, 70% of the deposit value will be refund.
If the booking is canceled between 29 and 15 days before the check-in date, 50% of the deposit value will be refund.
If the booking is canceled 15 days before the check-in date, there will be no refund.

* Shared Dorm:
Each reservation is for an individual bed, although you book the same number of beds as the room has, this doesnt guarantee that all the people are going to be in the same room.

* Underage policy
Guests under 18 years old are not allowed without their parents or responsible adult and they must stay in a private room.

* Exchange Rate
Our prices are defined in USD. The exchange rate used is not the daily one, because of the market variation. The exchange rate that we used is defined by Che Lagarto, the exchange rate shown on the website can change. Please visit our website for more information.
* If the payment is made in Chilenean Pesos, we will charge 19% from IVA. Chilenean citizens cannot pay in Dolars. If the payment is made in Dolars the IVA will not be charged.
