A very good hostel that will be significantly improved once the final renovations are completed (swimming pool, bar, etc). Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but a few were less helpful. The hostel is in a great location. It is worth requesting an airconditioned room as there is very little difference in price, but the staff will put you in a lower quality room unless you make your requirement clear.

Clean hostel close to everything you need. Staff are happy to help and direct you. The hostel doesnt have a bar but it is being built. The internet is free.Rooms do get very hot though, with six of us in a dorm with the fan on and window open I still only got 4 hours a night tops, saying that it might just be our room or just me?! The area is very safe and is an easy walk from the rodovaria even in the early hours. For me personally, a trip to Penha was my favourite thing about Paraty.

Very friendly staff who mostly speak english. The hostel seems quite new so is nice and clean and in good condition. It is a good location for a shorter stay as its close to bus and old town. On the negative side the whole place echo so any sound (even quiet talk) will sound like those people are in the room with you. If its music or chatting from reception it is extremely loud (from that point of view i would not return). Breakfast the most limited I have had in Brasil in 8 wks, only from 9

This is the best hostel I visited in Paraty! Multilingual staff (Spanish, French, German and English speaking, on top of Portuges) C'est sympa de parler francais en vacances!! Laurianne is very efficient with fun and you feel her Swiss culture in the cleanliness of the whole hostel, Leo, her husband is a smily leader and knows the right spots aroud, Acacia and Renata are keen to help kindly. The rooms are brand new, cosy and above expectations for that price level!!! I'll be back with friends!

I had an amazing experience in Che Lagarto Paraty. Like all the others on the group, Paraty is one of the best hostels that I ever stayed. Everything is brand new, confortable beds and nice rooms. The staff is amazing. Very helpfull and they could hang out with you and show you the city if you wish. Anyway, is a place that I sincerely recommend for those that would like to know an historical city as Paraty is.

What a fantastic hostel, someones finally got it right. This hostel is bran spanking new, with some of the most comfortable beds i've slept in, in SA. The staff are not only helpful, but amazing fun, going out at nights with the guests taking you to the very best places to experience the Paraty night life! not to mention they're all very pretty! I stayed in couple of hostels in Paraty, and Che Lagarto is by far the most comfortable and fun! 5 stars all the way... i'll be coming back
