Magali and her staff were fantastic. We were surprised with the amount of activities organised both during the day and night. We really appreciate the New Years celebrations you put on too. The welcoming party you put on at the start enabled us to make many new friends. Thanks for making our holiday so memorable, the best accommodation all trip (never had a hostel make your bed and give you shampoo/conditioner/soap). Thanks

Staff were excellent, gave us great advice about daily activities, and were fun to hang out with. Only negative I have about the hostel is that we did not receive any towels on our last night. The cleaners took our dirty towels, and did not replace them with clean towels. Staff tried to help us at night find some fresh towels but there were none available

Amazing. Arrived on boxing day to stay over the new years period to find the manager had compiled an optional itinerary of activities/events over the week. The manager (Magali) and staff were all super friendly and helpful and truly were there to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The hostel did breakfast everyday, rooms were cleaned daily as well. only 10min walk to copacabana beach (perfect to burn off all the caiprinhas you drink) and 4min from the nearest metro. I will def return.

Really good location, excellent front desk staff. The rooms are small, a/c old, bathrooms clean and lockers/room safe are nonfunctional in my opinion. Breakfast is pretty good. They clean the room every day and overall really good but it is expensive bc of location.

Really amazing staff who do their best to help you out. They give great advice and it makes all the difference. The room is clean with good facilities but they could improve on things like actual lockers or safes in the room and newer air con units so you don't have to wear ear plugs to sleep. Location is good, close to bus stops and the beach. Breakfast is ok, compared to other Che's it could be improved. Price is a bit high for what you get but that's Rio I guess.

Good location and great breakfast!

It's hard to believe is a hostel. We booked a private room, it had a flat screen, comfy bed and pillows and was super clean. The staff is great, kind and really helpful. We found the bathroom dirty one time and they cleaned immediately after we reported it. We got a map and instructions to take buses and metro from them. We already booked our nights in Foz de Iguazu in Che Lagarto there!

Che Lagarto is one of those places where you feel exactly how you feel at home. I can't thank the staff enough! Really clean private room and really good breakfast! I only had a little problem with the shower but they fixed it on the same day. Coming back to the hostel next time in Brazil for sure!

We'd like to thank the excellent staff at Che Lagarto, Santa Clara for making us feel so welcome. It makes such a difference when you are a long way from home. The staff were incredible; the location perfect for the beach and the hostel was extremely clean with a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you very much again to all the staff for taking time to help us and for so friendly.

kitchen space isnt massive compared to other hostels we have stayed in and they could do with a few kitchen utensils but apart from that the hostel is great and we fully reccomend it if you are staying in rio and want a little more than just a hostel but at great prices

Great place, the staff is awesome and breakfast is excellent. The beds are really confortable, the only thing is that the bathroom in my room was a bit small but always very clean! Definitely, the best way to finish my trip in South America.

Great hostel, only complaint is that in the 5 days I was there, I didn't get a single hot shower (morning, noon, or night) - a problem given it was winter.
