I really enjoy the hostel, very clean, the staff very nice and friendly and 1 minute from the beach. What you can ask more? :)

It was a very pleasant stay, but they had a problem with the kitchen so we couldn't cook. And the kitchen was very small and not very clean, so I wouldn't recommend to cook there.

the staff was very friendly. But the management does not put attention to chek in prosess. They give wrong beds. Once I found that my bed was occupied by some one else. I reported to fron desk. They said it was mistake. But my towel and t-shirt was gone.

Very next to the beach. Stuff is friendly and the rooms get cleaned every day. The price is also cheap. I got a dorm with 10 people. Its every night some event to make party and you can meet a lot of party people. Its in my point of view a typical tourist/backpacker hostel. You can go to some nice, not excellent partys with other backpackers. The typical Rio stuff. If you want to know more local stuff you have to know some locals or take a hostel more in the center of the city.

Besides only 1 of 3 computers working and very cramped large dorm rooms, I did like the hostel and it was a great location

Excellent location, just one block away from Ipanema beach, which is lush :) Felt like a safe location!! Has a bus stop around the corner to reach the Christ the Redeemer, also walking distance from the lagoon. Dorms were good, clean, we were in the block across the road which had security on the door. Breakfast was great a good choice of fruit, cereal, bread. A tip, learn some Portuguese or Spanish if you are British and there's not English talk going around :-/

I have been there two times. The second was really better, this time i could feel more safe at the hostel, in my first time i was feeling that everyone could go inside and now is safer. About the breakfast nothing special, but is okay!

Location was perfect. The bar is okay, I'd rather go to the bar right next to it though, with same beer price. The only thing I didn't like is that the hostel makes a lot of money selling tours, tickets and club entries for a lot more than they actually cost, whatch out.

I was a stubborn boy and ignored all the bad comments about the Hostel. I didn't even stay there, because of such a trashy service, price and headache I just preferred to move to other Hostel (Lisetonga, very recommended), even though I still had to pay for one night at the Che Lagarto, which I didn't do. Terrible bathroom, trash in the lobby, stinking the whole place, frequent use of Overbooking, making travelers have to move to other locations which are not the one they chose.

Very bad service from the staff. Staff were more interested in talking to each other and often kept you waiting at reception for over 20 minutes whilst they were chatting. Dorms were very small and clinical white bunk beds. The bunk beds were very high and someone in our dorm fell off the bed and really hurt themselves. Atmosphere was very intrusive. Really forcing a party vibe and it felt quite false and like a 18-30 club.

The staff were extremely rude. I waited many times at the reception desk with 2-3 staff in front of me, and not one acknowledged that I was there. Vivianna was the least helpful of all staff (blonde female staff member) and often refused to give assistance on how to get to places, or gave us incorrect information (perhaps in hope that we would join their overpriced tours). I was not impressed and would not return. I will also definitely be recommending my friends do NOT visit.

The hostel was located just one block from the beack and also close to shops, cafes, cash manhines. Super frinedly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere with bar in the hostel. The rooms were very clean and security good. Own locker in the room so no worrying about valuables and there was always someone outside checking who was going in and out of the rooms. The place was very relaxed but also very efficiently run. I would stay here again and recommend it to fellow travellers.

it has an excelent location. It's a great place if your are looking for party. It's full of argentinian guys. I think it is very expensive regarding its facilities. It's very clean but the beds are not very good. They don't accept credit cards.

It's a great hostel, but they run it really bad. Wi-fi sucks. The girl took one hour to do my check in. My locker was broken so I didn't have a safe place to leave my stuff. They needed to change me from one room to another, which meant I had to do a check out at 10 and then check in at 2 pm sucks. They were sooo disorganized that one night woke up 13 people on a 10 bed dorm cause people weren't sure which ones were their beds. Don't have towels for rent. Don't have a single bathroom mirror.

Overpriced - no hot water, not even a mirror or hooks to hang your towel in the bathroom. Blasting club music in the bar/reception area. No character, hospital-like cots and rooms. There are two buildings: the second one has a front door that doesn't lock. Anyone on the street can walk into the building. Luckily, the rooms themselves are locked, but in general, security is very lax. I switched to another hostel after one night.

Good location, but the atmosphere is quite impersonal. The staff aren't unfriendly but definitely put themselves before the guests. Kitchen only from 15 to 18... Check-in till 14 while the room are empty.
