Staff were friendly informative and happy to do what they could to make the stay enjoyable. Good breakfast, nice social atmosphere, wish I could have stayed longer
Good hostel in a great location. Had everything we needed and staff were very friendly and helpful, some trips are provided through the hostel if you are travelling alone and theo hostel is a great way of making friends. Only downfall was the limited breakfast selection and cold shower.
Good vibe in the hostel, nice music and bar! Good place for all kind of travellers Lockers in the room would be nice! Didnt had always warm water. Would defenitely recommend this hostel! Had a great time!
Good hostel, in a nice location in the city. The common areas are very big and the garden is nice. The rooms are big with very nice showers. The only bad points were that the wi-fi didnt always work, and the breakfast was fine, but not as good as other hostels in brazil!
Stayed in private room both in the hostel and che lagarto suites opposite. Both hostels unfortunately suffered from the same problem of a very small kitchen for guests!! The room itself was clean and felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Nice pool and hammock area and good breakfast. Overall enjoyed our stay.
Overall the hostel was OK for a few days. The room was basic and the bathroom was not say was extactly clean. The bar area on Sat night came alive with music which was nice. The town is preaty layed back and it was nice to get out of Rio. Bfast was great. I have stayed at worst a
Good size hostel with excellent welcome, staff very friendly and have good tips for things to do. Communal areas comfortable, good wifi, loads of seats for breakfast/dinner. Hostel felt very safe, lockers free, great position in town, easy to get round. Rooms small but comfortable, ensuite a bit odd in a mixed dorm. Very cold showers!!! Dinners prepared by hostel every night are good quality and value but the kitchen facilities were the smallest we have across so far!
Great staff and dinner service. Only thing is that the computers barely work.
Staff very good. Manager was really helpful. She was very helpful of things to do in the rain. Cold showers one of the days no hot water so was very very cold. Especially when you have to wash long hair!! They eventually gave keys to another dorm to use shower. Kitchen facilities were good nice and clean.
Great Hostel! We were very pleased with our choice. Location is perfect about 5 minute walk to the bus station and 3 minutes to old town- great! Hostel is big and we got given a HUGE room- absolutely perfect! it was clean, so much space and exactly what we asked for. The staff were great, especially Lolo who was particularly helpful and friendly :). The food they cook in the evening is great value and tasty. Nice smart hostel, clean and a good dinner. Breakfast was fair enough, could have used some savory options (i.e. cheese or meats) instead of just jam or honey. Payment was a bit confusing because Hostelworld had given a quote after booking that was half US dollars, half euro, payment onsite had to be done in Brazilian Real, and the requested invoice was in Brittish Pounds.

Nice atmosphere and staff. Rooms are not very clean, breakfast is poor and there is no storage for your belongs.
Although they are a member of a larger chain of Hostels they rate unexpectedly low for this prize range! Breakfast very poor! Staff continuity poor! Cleanliness private room good! Noise very loud even after 22/23:00hrs!! Do not accept private room 007!!!
Great location near the old town and easily walkable from the bus station. Lovely staff who couldn't do more for me. Highly recommend the tours, the staff are even happy to suggest ways to see the waterfalls and distillery by local bus when the weather is bad.
It's a nice place to stay. Friendly staff, good breakfest. My only complaint is about the daily cleaning of bathrooms. But in general this Che Lagarto is pretty good!
Had an excellent 2 night stay at this hostel. Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly staff and a staff member who was on his day off offered to take me around town and show me the sites (Terere), which was very useful as I only had a short visit in Paraty. Was introduced by him to other UK travellers and had a great time socialising with them and the other very nice staff. Bar is nice, room was clean and tidy and the boat trip with Diego was excellent. Would definitely stay here again!
I spent an amazing journey over there. Le location is excellent ( in the historical center) and very close to the beach. The quarter is secured so allows to go out the night without any problem. The hostel is very clean, and the team is amazing! If I go back to Paraty, I'll book my bed in Che Lagarto for sure.

Lovely staff, so helpful. Extended our stay twice because enjoyed staying there so much
Arriving I was immediately impressed by the beautiful outdoor area, bar, and good music. The staff that checked me in were fantastic, chill, and helpful; my room was clean and not over-crowded at all (as I have come to expect of most hostel rooms). Absolutely one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. I plan on seeking out Che Lagarto hostels from now on. Also worth mentioning -- I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going to the Che Lagarto in Trinidade 40 minutes away for the beautiful beaches!
