Most friendly staff I've ever encountered! Excellent location, literally steps away from the Blue Mosque, and you have an amazing view of Aya Sofya from the rooftop bar! Only slight drawback is the number of bathrooms - there's one toilet and one shower for each level and I can image this might get a bit irritating!

Of any of the hostels I stayed at in Turkey, Cheers was the best! It has a great relaxed and friendly atmosphere, an optimal locatıon, plenty of clean bathrooms, lockers, and ınterestıng guests, and a fabulous vıew from the upstairs bar. I would defınıtely recommend this place to anyone!

Private rooms (or at least the Pine tree room) seems overpriced.

Some things I did not like. We got another room than we had expected, in another building. So many of hostel Facilities & services they list on their webb was not there. Room very basic -one bed, one chair, one lamp. Observe they do not take cards, only cash and they want payment in advance. That is unusual. We will not use this hostel again.

We were very pleased with Cheers! The location can't be beat. The staff was very friendly; the owner was especially nice and remembers you by name. The breakfast was amazing, too! We stayed there two separate no our vacation; the first time we stayed we have a very average room. The second time we stayed we were upgraded to a suite. The second room was super nice and much cleaner than the first. Definitely recommend this place to travelers!

Amazing hostel!! I stayed here two years ago and it is just as great now as it was then. The staff are excellent, the breakfast is fabulous, and the location can't be beat. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and there are lockers in the dorms. I was here during the protests that are occurring in Taskim Square and I can also the say the hostel is safe -- it is far removed from where the protests are occurring and the staff kept everyone up to date with the situation and where it was safe to go.

The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helped us out tremendously during our stay (a lot of very honest and useful local advice). The hostel is in an absolutely perfect location for exploring the best historical sites in Istanbul, as well as many good restaurants. In particular the food at the Cheers Dive Lounge is very good, and not as expensive as some of the other more commercial restaurants in the same street. The hostel room was clean and spacious - would definitely stay again.

I had an excellent time at this hostel. The staff are wonderful and really showed me a great time. I would come back in a heart beat. The protests are far from this area so no need to worry that they'll affect your plans.

My friend and I spontaneously came to Istanbul for the weekend and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. I am so happy we ended up at Cheers-- everyone immediately made us feel like we were friends at home. Samet went above and beyond to help us out, making our experience unforgettable. Location was absolutely perfect-- it was not difficult to take public transportation to the airport either. We spent more time than we should have at the terrace bar because it was so epic!

Cheers Hostel was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The dorm rooms were big and had a locker so that's absolutely fine to stay there. A friend and I stayed in the cheapest private room and it was fine. Shower are just separated by a glass wall that was a bit weird. The hostel staff was so great, we sat around and talked every evening and they were so helpful with everything we needed to know, even annoying questions like what does that mean in turkish etc. Breakfast was so delicious!

This is a great hostel. The location is walking distance from many of the city's biggest attractions (AyaSofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar) and the staff is amazing. Everyone there quickly becomes your friend and is very helpful, accommodating and just plain fun! If you're worried about the recent protests, Cheers is located away from all the craziness. I didn't see any protesting while at Cheers and I always felt safe. Also, the roof top bar with amazing views and fresh daily breakfast! Perfect!

I stayed here with friends for about a week. This is without a doubt the friendliest hostel I've ever stayed at. It's an amazing location, with Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque within a 5 minute walk, and the Grand Bazaar within ten minutes. The nearest tram stop is also about a 5 minute walk. Everyone who works here is very nice and really helpful, I asked a lot of questions and there was always someone to answer. Many thanks to Tarik, Samet, Veysel and Veyuz. It was great to meet you all!

BEST of the best. We stayed at Sultant Hostel first and Cheers is way better. Hasan is the best cook ever. They are all so nice and helpful. Will definitely go back and stay with them!
