Had a very pleasant time here. A great location, not too expensive, and provided everything we needed for our stay in Tel Aviv.

Awesome location.. 10 minute walk to the beach, a few minutes from Rothschild street (bars etc..) the Carmel market is a 7 minute walk to pick up cheap fruit water whatever on the way to the beach.. The staff were really helpful, fritz always willing to help and give good directions.. Great vibe, met other travellers in the court yard out the back.. Would recommend to stay here

Excellent Hostel. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about the area. They gave us a map, information, and great service. The hostel is a fifteen minute walk to the beach but pretty centrally located for restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The best feature of this hostel is definitely the atmosphere. The people are friendly and fun. There is a kitchen for cooking and a small pool in the back.

Traveling Europe for the last two months, ended my holiday with some relaxation in Tel Aviv - and this was hands down the best hostel I stayed in on this entire journey. Never have I felt more like I was staying at home; we became a little family so quickly! The staff knows you by name and the patio is amazing for hanging out and makes it virtually impossible not to make friends. I've never had such an enjoyable experience in a hostel. YOU WILL NOT REGRET CHOOSING THIS HOSTEL, I'M CERTAIN!

I stayed in a 6 bed mix dorm. The hostel is in a good location 15 min walk to the beach. The door for the dorm room didn't have a lock and there was only small draws to lock valuables in. The hostel had a very family like atmosphere during the day and a very social one during the evening which was great. The staff organise activities for during the week which was also good. Overall I would recommend Chef Hostel but also recommend the owner Roy behaves a little better in front of the guests.

I have stayed at a number of hostels in Tel-Aviv and Chef Hostel is by far the one I’ve enjoyed the most! The owners are amazing people and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. One Friday night they cooked a big Sabbath dinner for the guests and the following week they had a fun barbecue in patio and this was all on the house! Given how affordable the rooms are at Chef Hostel, I would have never expected that they’d throw in extras like this but that is what makes them special!

Very professional staff...mostly young 20 something guests that are all friendly and like to party together plus the Chef makes great food for breakfast and dinner for a cheap price

A great, homely place at the center of Tel Aviv. You'll probably find yourself spending much more time here than you had planned ;-)

This hostel I can recommend! Its in a really good location, about 5-7minutes walk to the beach and less than 1minute to the main street (allenby street). Nice place and staff!

A good choice if you want to meet some new friends from all around the world. Roy and his staff are terrific: staying at this hostel was like living at home. On Friday, it's shabbat dinner. The hostel is only 5 minutes by steps far from Carmel Street Market and 15 minutes far from the beach. Wi-Fi connection is good.

I have stayed at 6 hostels in Israel, 4 in Tel Aviv, and this one is the best. The location is perfect for nightlife and centrality in Tel Aviv. The staff is very friendly and it is easy to make friends from all over the world here.

When I arrived I saw that this hostel has been rated #1 in Dec 2012, and I asked me why. Simply because the location is super, only a short walk from the beach, the staff is so friendly and the atmosphere was so relaxed that I soon felt like at home. Although the showers seemed to be not enough for everybody I always could use them when I had need. Everything is well organized, and the Shabbat dinner was an extraordinary event. Thanks!

Quite noisy from traffic on street. Bed not comfortable. 'Angry' notices posted on walls in 'common' areas. No locks on dorm doors although generally felt safe. Nice patio out back, though and handy for beach. Very friendly staff, too
