Be prepared to pay for everything! Watch out for the Sabbath check in times as well. They will find any reason to ask for more money. Not an organized check in system. Staff is very hot-or-miss, sometimes they are nice and others they just don\'t care.

Central location but rather poor facilities and atmosphere. Tel Aviv is really not a place for good hostels in general.

As I stepped in, I’ve immediately felt at home, the place is nothing like usual hostels but more like a warm home with a pleasant leaving room in the middle and a great yard where interaction is happening, The place is not too fancy but has lot of charm and is well maintained , Roy the owner is always there to guide, advise, barbeque and joke, in any language you want

The first night we booked a 5bed-female-dorm. But when we got to the dorm, there were 10 beds. But only 4 girls stayed in that room, so it was ok. For the other nights we had an excellent 2bed-room in the 2nd floor. It was very calm and nice there. I would definetely stay there again!

A lovely hotel in the heart of Tel-Aviv. The dorms are pretty nice but the kitchen and the outside chill area is even better. Not to forget the hostel has a great atmosphere being part of a casual building and a lot of travelers staying there. Hot water seemed to be a rare resource but I was told that they're working on it, which I believe.

Chef hostel is everything you could ask for in a hostel: reasonably priced, clean, inviting, centrally located, knowledgable/accomodating staff, and a comfortable bed on top of it all. Highest recommendation. Thanks for everything guys, I'll be back soon. Cheers!

The hostel was fantastic! The atmosphere was fun, it was really clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and everyone staying was kind and like a family. The rooms were safe and clean, the bathrooms were excellent, the facilities were amazing, and the location was perfect. Definitely the best hostel in Tel Aviv.

One of the few real hostels I found in the Middle East- was a great place to meet other travellers... There were some renovations happening while I was there, which means extra bathrooms for the 14 bed dorm :) Perfect location for all the markets, beach & was also surrounded by cool little cafes... Loved the common areas including a great lounge out the back, plus the free wi-fi was handy too... A big hello to Roy and the team (and Shushu!!) from Rish x

When I come to Tel Aviv, I can only imagine staying at the Chef. It's by far the best hostel I've been to. It's clean, comfortable and the people are great. I'll be back soon!

Good hostel right on Montefiore street. A bit hard to find since there is nothing identifying it as a hostel on the streets. But very clean, great people coming through, and a good staff. One of the cheapest places in the area, and I would definitely stay there again.
