It took an hour to check in, with no crowd and no line. Something was wrong with the registration desk computer, and the desk attendant was clueless, had to call support support was slow in coming, etc. No fallback option, guest just has to sit in the lobby for an hour ...

Bad location, few bathrooms (all mixed) and very unhelpful staff! Me and my friend had booked a twin room together, (which was the whole reason we choose that hostel, because we could stay in the same room) but when we arrived they said it was all full so we couldn't stay together anymore. Instead we had to be in 2 different twin rooms with other people, both guys! Bad customer service!

This was my first visit to NY and my first time staying in a hostel. Staff was very good and they kept the place very tidy. My room was clean, and the bathrooms were clean and orderly as well! The location and the helpful staff made my stay awesome. I will definitely be back!! Thanks again

If you wanna have sleepless nights after Sightseeing and Partying in the City... you should definetely book this hostel! Squeaking heavy metal doors... which are slammed constantly! gotta love it -.-

First the only positive: the room is nice, and clean, close to downtown. With appropriate bedding. Loc: although in Chelsea, is in bad address. Industrial spot, with heavy traffic. Fourth floor, no elevator, no communal kitchen, no laundry, small lobby to hang out in front of reception desk, no WiFi in Rooms, paid computers, no lockers downstairs (hence you have to go back up the stairs to lock your computer or luggage). Staff was nice, but not knowledgeable. I asked a question: wrong answr.

Bathrooms were not the cleanest...out of tp for 2 days. Rooms same... Dirty towels, even clean ones... Stains over them. Overall so-so. Staff were fine, but even at front desk would speak Spanish to one another... Which is fine, but not when I am trying to pay for my room and ask where things are in the city.

I would have liked wifi in more than just the lobby. It was farther from the subway than I anticipated, but it was good overall.

The stay was ok but we had the smallest room on the floor and didn't even have a sink in our room.

The hall was so hot at any moment of the day or outside temperature. There was not WiFi in the rooms. The hostel is very clean, the neighborhood is very safe and it is at walking distance from almost everywhere in Manhattan. I can recommended this hostel.

Location was perfect, but still a little bit expensive for what you get. We asked them twice to change our bed sheets... I\'m still waiting for it LOL

Generally, I had a fine time at the hostel but me and my friend booked a twin private room. When we got there we had a twin double. I was told that this was Hostelworld's fault. No discount was offered and I was even informed that we were lucky as double rooms are normally more expensive. The fact that we are two heterosexual males who may not have wanted to share a bed for 5 nights wasn't really considered. Bit poor really..

The hostel was nice. I asked for a quiet room and got one at the end of the hall. There were only two beds in the room which I liked. Unfortunately there are only 3 bathrooms per floor, which means one for about 16 people. I had to wait and it was flooded. The staff tried to accommodate me with a new mattress, because mine was poking me, but it did not help. I got a blanket to put under the sheet, which helped. Be aware, this is an international hostel, and you can't be a NY resident to stay.

This is one of the most immaculately clean hostels. It was very cute, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

A good hostel. Nice to have rooms with only 2 beds/room. Only complaint is that they wouldn\'t turn the heat on, and we had to insist that they give us extra blankets. It was so cold in the room that we couldn\'t sleep. Overall, happy with the stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. One thing that might be improved: WIFI signal in my room on 4th floor was too weak. In sum: good value for money.

Very convenient location - 15 minute walk from Penn Station and right around the corner from an entrance to the High Line, near many subways, etc. Locks didn't work on the rooms and the front door was open to anyone, so the only security was a door from the lobby to the residential areas which was guarded (pretty well, in fairness) by a staffer. The room was very spacious and clean but the hallways smelled like bleach. Showers could have been cleaner - one smelled chokingly of mildew.
