The room was way too small, noisy and with poor lighting. The breakfast service was like nothing, just a piece of bread and some frut, and they don't even let you take two pieces of bread. No wi-fi connection in the rooms, and in the common areas it didn't work quite well neither. The site was pretty good, but the hostel itself very disappointing.

They should tell people that they add at check in can add a lot more money to the bill and the savings become less.

The location of the hostel is great, close to everything and still in a quiet area. Cleaning products smell is too strong, artificial. I did not get the idea of thorough cleaning. The common area to meet other guests and have that great hostel atmosphere is very isolated and gets locked too early at night (for a city like New York, it seemed a unfair curfew). The night staff was not very friendly, giving information with really bad humour. Inside the rooms, blinds were not enough - too bright.

Great value for the money, great location, friendly staff, cleanly, great access to transportation. Showers too small.

No towels. Lockers and computers are not for free (which would be Ok if the hostel itself wasn't expensive). Bagel for breakfast was nice. My lock was broken but I finally managed to lock the door. Location is perfect, I walked back from the Broadway show at about 11 pm alone and did not meet any hobos or anything, felt pretty safe. The best NY hostel I stayed at so far.

I definitely enjoyed my 5 nights. The private room was clean, not much of a blanket though the rooms are heated. Comes with a sink which is handy (shared bathroom). Free Wi-Fi in the computer room, fast Wi-Fi and their computers cost. Staff were friendlyish and it's across the road from a Police Station which means you feel pretty safe. It's a great neighbourhood anyway and only 15-20min walking to Times Square plus free breakfast. Check out Magnolia Bakery. Not close but most amazing cupcakes.

Staff was unfirendly. They were not able to store the luggage at the reception for a few minutes. Poor breakfast and the internet access is a joke at all with 200kb/sec.

One of the worst hostels in the world! El peor hostal que he visto en mi vida, el hombre de recepción, que por cierto, habla español pero hace como que no lo habla, se ve que se avergüenza, es un imbécil absoluto.

The location is great but the staff is very rude and extremely unhelpful, two of them almost yelled at me because I didn't have the money for the deposit of the key with me, anything you ask to the front desk NEVER expect a smile. Worst service I have ever been provided in a hostel.

They don't provide towels so I had to buy one. The rooms are really hot and I could not open my window. The breakfast room is too small for the amount of people staying there and you have to hold down the toaster buttons when making toast on both of the toasters - surely they can afford to get a few new toasters. ANd the staff are always cleaning around you as you eat breakfast, which just adds to the small room annoyance. Great location and rooms are kept clean and good size for new york.

Unfriendly staff, steep stairs that you have to lug your bags up, don't provide towels, they ration the breakfast available. Only good thing is location.

It was ok. The room was very small, we had no space for our suitcases. We had NO plugs in our room, which are important to charge you batteries and things. The internet in the common area didn't work very well. I tried it many times. The staff was friendly with us, but we arrived a little earlier and they said "No, no, check in is at 3 pm, you have to wait and to lock up your suitcases downstairs." The good thing was they had lockers ($ 5), so that we could spend the day somewhere and came back.

It was decent but not a great hostel to meet people. There is no common area to hang out in (except a small kitchen and eating area) - no couches or tvs or good shared spaces to relax. The staff was not very enthusiastic or involved. The rooms were fine, the bathrooms not great but clean enough. On the plus side, the location is excellent - in a great neighborhood and very close to the subway E line which gets you just about everywhere you would want to go. Overall an OK hostel.

Less social hostel. Need more activities and things to do in the common room, with extended hours.

The only bad thing is the stairs. Breakfast was pretty good, and the cleaning staff is very kind. Location is good, only three blocks from the subway station, also didn't feel uncomfortable even in the late night.

Free Internet / WiFi is only limited in one small area at the basement and never worked for me. Otherwise very good hostel worth the money! If you don't care internet / WiFi, try this hostel.

1.The atmosphere was very quiet and uncheerful when I had breakfast.. I suppose music may make it better. 2.The twin room was too tight. It was as same as the single room and the room is enough for one person, but small for two persons. We didn't put our suitcases on the floor. 3.No elevator only stairs was really hard to carry our suitcases for women. The buildings were old and beautiful, but not convenient. 4.The shower in the 352 was too hot, so I couldn't take a shower at the night on Dec. 22
