For the price I paid, I was very positively surprised. The location is amazing, and it's pretty clean. That's all I'm looking for in a hostel. It was perfect for my purposes!

The location of this hostel is incredible, and the fact that it was one of the cheapest places I could find on Manhattan made it all the better. The rooms/bathrooms etc are very basic - I was in a 2 bed dorm with my friend but the space was small enough that I might have felt uncomfortable being in there with someone I didn't know - but overall I was very pleased and would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap NYC getaway in a a great part of town.

The hostel is good but the condition in the room should be better, and should have more amanities in the room. Howerver, it's ok for just sleeping. Thanks

The good stuff: awesome staff, willing to help you in any way possible. There are no bunk beds!! Only 4 beds to a room, and a bathroom for each room was great. Location is perfect for exploring manhattan, and you could spend days exploring Chelsea alone. The free breakfast is basic but a nice inclusion. The courtyard is nice and a great way to meet people. The not so good: it's not cheap, but hey, it's New York! They don't give you a towel; noice restrictions are defiantly not inforced.

Had booked a private room, was on the top floor...stairs only and they are quite narrow. had a separate shower and toilet on my floor. Room was basic but clean, and the whole hostel seems to be quite clean.

- first of all the hostel should invest in their staff. especially one guy was so rude at my arrival that I honestly don't know why these people choose to work at a hostel. i don't expect pure kindness, but a simple welcoming is appropriate - the kitchen is really bad equipped. there are no knife to cut vegetables, just plastic flatware.

I forgot there are no towels provided. A reminder when registering would be nice. Do they rent towels for a nominal fee? It would be nice if they did. Can't always travel with towels.

Bare bones. Only one wall outlet. Would've rather stayed in the NY Loft Hostel in Brooklyn again.

Was not impressed that I had to pay $5 for 2 hours just to store my suitcase. The front desk guy was not willing to help out at all. The next day someone else checked into my room at 12pm 3 hours before When i was told I couldn't check in until 3pm. I told them this also to another guy when I checked out he seemed to not care whatsoever and I still had to pay another $5 for another 3 hours to store my luggage again! Paying to store 2 hours before checking in is so ridiculous and moneymaking!!!

The bed sheet was not clean at all. I found somebody's long hairs on the bed sheet and was not clean at all.

In the beginning I wasn't expecting much, but when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and my room was very clean and I felt like my stuff was safe. Over all I was happy with my stay and I would definitely recommend this place to others traveling to NYC.

I chose this hostel because it is close to the mega(coach) bus drop off station(Toronto-NYC). The wifi was not working for the first two days. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom, paid $70/night. The room is bigger than I expect. I doubt they will wash the blanket. The bathroom is really small. Another problem is the stairs are narrow, if you have heavy luggages, this place may not a good choice. I need pay for the locker before check in and after check out. ($3-5 per 24 hrs).

Could you change blankets to quilts, since it is cold at night.

This is a small inn rather than a hostel I should say. Still, the value for the money is good since you get an individual bed rather than a noisy and screechy bunkbed. Its next to a low transited street which means there is almost no noise outside and you can sleep quite and peacfully. However, even though the hostel claims to be a good place to meet friends, it ain't like that since the common area is very big and away from the rooms. The location is one of the best.
