Reviews & Ratings Explained
The rating percentage is calculated from customers who booked within the last 12 months.

1. Beef up the Wi-Fi so that it can handle the load 2. Since the toilets are in separate rooms in the hall, with no sink for washing hands, provide hand sanitizer in the toilet rooms so that fecal contamination won't be transferred unto the toilet room door knobs, and many other things around the hostel. This is important! 3. There should be a TV room with comfy chairs + movies 4. Common areas should be open 24 hrs 5. Indoor common area should be larger to accommodate more people, esp in winter

The location was very nice, in a safe place if Chelsea, seems to be quite safe even at night, not far from Times Square. The room is very small like most of the hostel but pretty expensive. I payed per night almost 140 USD including tax for two people. It's similar to cheap hotel. My roommate was really strange and irritating like walking around in the room at dawn. As a whole, it was nice except the price.

Not a bad hostel for the price in the middle of Manhattan.

This hostel was great. The room (private 2 single bed) was perfect with a huge window and nice view of the street. At first 'Lary' the guy at the counter can seem a bit short but give him a chance he is very friendly if you are! Chelsea is a perfect location but very noisy! (garbage collection at 1am?) . It would have been great if there was wifi in the room but it became a good opportunity to meet people.

I stayed a few nights that included New Years Eve. It was awesome. My room was spotless and the bathroom was stocked. The four female dorm suite was perfect for my stay. The location is also amazing. I was able to walk/ride to all of the boroughs and landmarks. The area is also safe as I walked around alone at night without a single problem. I highly recommend this hostel!

Maybe it was the time we went but the common room was pretty average. They're was just a bunch of tables and chairs. No couches or games. just WiFi that would chuck the shits every now and then. And the shower needed cleaning and new tiles. Also the heaters and gas stuff would make strange noises as if they were leaking. Really annoying and a bit worrying. Told the guy at the front desk and he was kinda rude. The rooms themselves were clean though and it was in a good area.

Unfortunately, this hostel lacks character. When you stay in a single room, the feeling that you are in a prison covers your soul since the room has only one old bed and old white walls. Not even a simple furniture to add some warm character. I would say there are so many better hostels around nyc for better value .

Super small room that can barely fit the 2 beds with practically no walking space. Noisy, doesn't even insulate from normal speaking voice in the hallway. Expensive with no wifi and small breakfast time window. Room was up 2 flights of very narrow curved stairwells that were a huge pain to go up with any sort of luggage. Pros: fast counter service.

We stayed in the rooms out the back of the hostel, and the one down side was that the so called heaters did not heat the room at all. In the middle of winter in New York it makes for a miserable stay when the room is freezing cold.

They said that have a luggage room but they haven't. They have a locker room and you have to pay for it.

This hostel has a handy location but provides a very basic service. The common area is the only wifi area and closes at 11. No comfort in this area only tables and chairs. Staff provide a basic service but nothing extra....including smiles. Rooms are very narrow and basic and extremely unlikely you will be able to share a room with your friends. If you just need a very basic room and a bit of breakfast in the morning then this place is ok. Don't expect anymore though

Great location but since the private rooms were in another staircase, I did not feel that the security was particularly good. The room was decent with heating and a sink but the ancient radiator made a lot of noise when turned on. Had a good night sleep with the help of ear plugs, though. The breakfast was a plus and the hostel was easy to find too. Great location close to public transportation and Central Park!

The hostel is located 2 minutes away from metro station in a quiet neighborhood. Rooms are small and basic but clean, the same can be said about WC and shower. Wi-fi can be used only in the common area, that closes at 11 pm. It' s a great choice if you are planning to spend time in your room only to rest.

Nice hostel in a GREAT location. Nice communal space (with free pizza on Wednesdays!) and for a great price. Don't expect to get a lot of sleep as the heaters bang and hiss every single night (mine went off at 2am EVERY night for half an hour!) and the cleaners bang about loudly most mornings. If it wasn't for that this hostel would have been perfect.

I loved the hostel. Beautiful old buildings in a great neighbourhood. The rooms are very, very basic, but reminded me of a cheap hotel in Europe. The large courtyard and kitchens available to guests mean that you have to independence to do what you like without being cramped by other guests. New York hostels don't seem to have much of a social atmosphere, but I rather like this. The heating was excellent and the facilities, while old, were clean.

Great in general. The only thing is to improve the internet within the dorm.
