Very good location, many sights in walking distance. Very modest equippment of the rooms (Single room does not even have a towel rail, no chair, no desk). Too many guests for the small common area, had to eat at the room (no chair!) as it was raining outside. Very lood at night, guests were comeing home (obviously drunk) between midnight and 5 am. Sleeping is only possible during daytime or probably with ear plugs, if you have.

I really liked this hostel, but it's different from others where I have stayed before. I say that because I didn't have much interaction with the rest of the people in the hostel. The common areas are on open spaces and therefore it's a bit hard to be meeting and staying with people there. Except for that: great localization, very safe and clean.

Clean enough, very convenient location (easy walk from Penn station, easy walk to NYU campus in Greenwhich, which I was visiting), but extremely cramped room and tiniest bathroom I've ever seen. I felt safe, it was fine, it was the cheapest option at the last minute, but I wouldn't wouldn't choose to stay there again. I might have liked it better if I weren't in a mixed dorm sharing my half-room with a sort of awkward middle-aged man.

Private en-suite room for $40 pn in Manhattan = AMAZING! Breakfast was free (bagel and fruit/cereal) nothing earthshattering but every little helps! Its a bit of a character-less place but thats no reason to not stay there! In the heart of the Gaybourhood - great access to WTC. Bronx, Central Park, Shopping area (Macys) on subway Internet only works in main common room (locked after 11) so that could be improved! Right oppostie a police station so very safe feeling, like most of Manhattan.

I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The room was extremely spacious compared to most hostels and each person had a single bed (rather than a bunk bed). Each room has two showers and a toilet, so on that side of things it was quite good. Wifi was only available in the common areas, which were closed at 11pm each night so that was quite annoying.

This hostel is definitely a good bang for your buck in the madness of NYC, especially if you are interested in a cozy private room to yourself. Pros - amazing location, great breakfast, friendly staff, good security & lockers, relatively cheap for a private room. Cons - no towels provided, slightly shabby washrooms, creaky floors. Overall, highly recommend *if* you are on a budget and need a private room in a central location!

Hostel is not cheap but located conveniently on Manhattan, few blocks from A,C,E subway. Because of queue of people waiting for check-in the receptionist isnt very talkative and informative but there are some flyers. WiFi is free but available only in the common area 8am-11pm! During day anyone can enter the place and there were some people sleeping in luggage storage area. Luggage storage lockers are NOT FREE, but you can leave your backpack just lying on the ground.. Bathroom ok, 2b. room nice

I stayed private room for 4 days in Chelsea International Hostel, great location, reasonable price, near the subway, clean room, the heater is warm (love it!), the space is big enough for a single traveler. No desk/chair and wi-fi in room is a little bit inconvenient, but I knew it before I booked here. Still think this is my 1st choice if I travel to NYC again.

the hostel is in a nice area but it takes more than an hour from the airport using public transport. Staff members were very polite and helpful. The cleaness was outstanding. However, it was very noisy and every time someboby climbed the stairs it was heard from every room.internet connection was very bad and only available in the common area, it was extremely poor and we got dosconnected or lost signal frequently. Furthermore, the computers they offer are very expensive

A cheap hostel (for NY-price levels) on an excellent location, near Penn Station and the touristic stuff in Manhattan. I was very pleased with the 4-bedroom.

The Hostel staff is not so friendly and cooperative. The whole facility is very strange, the rooms are not nice. I shared a room with a 87-year-old man and a 75-year-old man, which is not normal for a student hostel. If you want to print anything, you have to go through a process that makes you likely not to print anything... On the other hand, the location is perfect. The hostel is near a subway station, but generally lies very central. The price is pretty good for Manhattan.

I would definitely stay here again. Great location for less money! The rooms are cleaned every day, you can walk to Times Square and just enjoy Chelsea-which has much to offer. Only cons: small breakfast & always the same (1Bagel&1piece of fruit&Cornflakes), $1/10min internet (computer) & common areas already close at 11 pm. But if u are fine with that - go to that hostel! :)
