Perfect place for backpackers who want to meet people and experiment NYC by walk. Very quiet at night, very nice staff, great price for this (perfect) location: I did almost everything by walk.

The staff of Chelsea Spot is very nice, polite and warmhearted. I would like especially to thank Ms Marisela for arranging me a morning shuttle to the Nowark Liberty International Airport, which is a very necessary and useful extra service to people like me who travel to NYC from a different country and who are not familliar with the City. Overall, it was a very nice and memorable stay with Chelsea Spot.

This is the worst place I´ve ever stayed! I found a rat inside my bedroom. It´s not clean and when I made my check in my bed was with trash and I needed to ask people at the upfront desk to change it. The place is very small, so small that you cannot move inside.

The bed was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep on it. And one of the receptionists didn't even know what the Guggenheim was, which you'd think is pretty basic knowledge for someone in tourism in NY. Lamine, the boss, was really great though, giving me a refund so that I could change hostels and even treating me respectfully afterwards!

this place has a few basic issues, but when we approached management about them their attitude was great and all the problems were fixed immediately. this place is great value for money and has an excellent location!

What makes this Hostel interesting is its great location, other than that it is very average.Clean, not too many showers, kitchen. Staff was friendly but not very helpful. When I asked about bars in the meatpacking district he started talking about Soho (while he was playing a video game). In the end it turned out,he has never been to the Meatpacking district, neither has an other crew member, even tough its close by.The mattresses were covered with plastic which makes you sweat in the night.
