I really do not like the mixed room in Chelsea Star. It is clean but too noisy.

This hostel centraly located. Near the Madison Square Garden. 2 Minutes by walk Empire state buldings and Times Square. Rooms are great and clean. More secure than other hostels. Price is also good for value. If I come again NYC. I'll definitely stay Chelsea Hostel again. Im strongly Recomend this lovely place

Very clean, lots of hot water, nice rooms. Not much character or fun, but a perfectly practical place to stay.

Of the four days I stayed, the only negative thing I encountered was an incompetent employee one night. Other than that, it was wonderful.

Very good hostel; excellent location - could walk both north and south of Manhattan, friendly staff, there was a terrace where to meet other travelers and at least I felt safety.. And it's very cheap considering the location. But you should have earplugs with you in case you end up sleeping in the rooms that are next to the road, it's going to be VERY noisy 24/7!! But I would definitely recommend the place to all, also for older people.

our first night we did not get our double room, but ended up in a rather grubby 8 dorm, we were given $126 back, eventually, which went some way to making ammends for an unpleasant first night. I think the location is good and just at the top end of chelsea. Great little theatre group across the road magnet.com, also close to Penn Station and travel.

I've seen two mice in two different days in my shared room. And the asian guy from the night turn is really angry. Really.
