While staying in New York I stayed in 3 hostels, this one was the last one we stayed in and it was a HAVEN compared to the others. Loved it! If I return to NY I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else... a tad bit out of the main touristy areas but if you throw your luggage out the front door they will land in the subway, so close so handy! Well impressed!

Clean, neighborhood reasonably safe, quiet inside at night, easy walk to nightlife or you can take the subway which runs most of the lines 24/7. No lockers but the staff is always around and all the guests were cool so I feel safe leaving my stuff out. Kitchen has free milk/cereal in the morning and is a great place to meet other people. Deli/convenience store next door is open 24/7 and McDonalds across the street. Only complaint is sinks in bathroom are tiny and no public computer.

the zone is good... because very near is lower east side, and you can find a great night life there... but the hostel is very poor and i could find it dirty

I cancelled my reservation when I saw the place in person. It was in a sketchy part of town, and was a run down low income hotel with bars on the windows. There were several \"junkies\" loitering right outside the front door. About face!   Read Owner Comments

Solid NY choice. A little sketchy around there, but it's a 5 min walk to east village and next door to the subway. Not a party dorm. but still open to meeting people.

Never stay in the dubbelrom.because its not a real rom. Its a kind of closet without windows and no working ventilation and have no soundisolation what so ever- you can here the guy i the next closet snor as if he whas laying next to you and mabye the worst thing is if you stay upp late you have to whisper.
