This was a fantastic hostel with an great mix of travelers, big common area, new facilities, lots of organized activities and the best price for cold beer in town (6 yuan). I highly recommend the Szechuan cooking lesson with Laura and Flip Flop's two chefs. Also recommend the Opera and renting one of the hostel's nice bikes (Chengdu has great and safe bike lanes). Only criticism is that the internet is slow and helmet rentals for the bikes would be nice. I would definitely stay here again.

The most comfortable beds I've slept on while in China. The place is really cool, has great maps, and an awesome staff. They also offer you a free beer or coffee on arrival. Great way to be introduced to Chengdu.

Front desk guy is not that helpful and wash room is not that clean either. What's more the bed is shake when upstairs come down or even turn over when sleep. However, this hostel's location is very good and you can easily go to Chunxi Road and take subway.

Friendly and helpful, close to shops and restaurants, city buses and subway. Breakfast available from about 7:00 , other meal options throughout the day. Tours and tickets can be arranged. I stayed in the four bed dorm; it was ensuite with hot shower, reading lights and curtains on the bed for privacy. Rooftop terrace good for people watching in the small park next door[ incuding dancing]. Number 303 airport bus stops about 1 kilometer away [10 yuan]

:-) probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I loved the common area, the food, the lovely staff and the excursions, as well as the little things like "dumplings party" and many other things. LOVELY PLACE!

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay in this hostel, because the day I had to come the earthquake in Yaan happed, that's why my train was cancelled and I couldn't make it. But the staff was very understanding and polite and they kindly helped me to cancell the booking. Thank you very much and I hope to stay in your hostel next time! It will be definitely my choice!

The best hostel! We love Flipflop! Great funloving staff: They know everything and can speak excellent English. The activities were a lot of fun and a good way to meet other guests. The dorms were clean and had a privacy curtain, everything worked. The food is great. This hostel is truely excellent.

Great hostel, with the nicest staff in all of China, on par with large Western hotel chains in Beijing and Shanghai in terms of language, competence, and willingness to help (like Sherry coming out to find me at the corner when I was lost!). The only reason for the "Good" rating on facilities is that the other guests and I did notice that the rooms were damp feeling, and some said they saw water seeping from the floor. Problem with the new plumbing maybe?

This is a realy nice hostel. Especially the staff is great. The service that they provide is excellent, they will do everything to make your stay pleasent. The only problem they have is the sewer. The bathrooms smell pretty bad sometimes. Good food and cheap beer.

First-rate hostel! Rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern, staff is extremely knowledgeable and talented in English and socializing. Loved hanging out in the common area, the rooftop garden area... everywhere really. The food on order was convenient, cheap, tasty, and varied; I never felt the need to go out (bad for getting to know Chengdu, but great for resting up). Would definitely be back again!
