One of the best hostels I have stayed at in China! The free night bike safari and dumpling party were awesome. Room was clean, shower was hot. The staff was the best I have ever seen, they hung out with the residents. Great environment, pool table in the middle of the lobby, and lots of DVDs to watch. Western food on the menu is average, the pizza is not like America.

The room was nice enough. Bathroom stank, a problem in a lot of coutries due to drains, but can be combated with nice smelly stuff easily. Main issue was the restaurant and slightly arrogant staff. On arrival at 9:30pm we were assured meals were available till 10:30. Got down to order at 9:50 to be told the chef went home. The next night 30 mins after ordering we were told they had no peppers, the main ingredient of our meal. Next morning, no bacon. And the fridge is never switched, on warm beer

Very good hostel, staff always quick at assisting you and very knowledgeable and attentive. It would be great to have Wifi in the bedrooms as I found that in the evenings there wasn't a quiet area to work. Great place to stay,

We stayed in the four bedroom dorm ensuite for the first night, and had trouble explaining to the staff that the reason the room is so damp, humid and moldy is the leaky pipe on the outside of one of the walls. They changed our room for a better one without much fuss and didn't charge extra. The staff is very friendly, some are more helpful than the others. The hostel organises a Sichuan opera visit that's worth taking since it costs only 120RMB including the ride, otherwise the tickets are 150.

The staff were excellent and the hostel has a great atmosphere and good for meeting other people in the communal area. It could be cleaner though.

Excellent staff...super friendly! Kaye and Jane were especially cool! The cats...not so friendly...they didn't seem excited to see me, or anyone. I don't know what their problem is ;-) Location next to subway is superb; tours are very reliable, and you get what you pay for. I also felt really relaxed at Lazy Bones...it's a chill place. If I am ever in Chengdu again, I'll be staying here! Thanks for a splendid time!

I had a great time at Lazybones, It ran well and had dedicated staff and helpers. The rooms were adequate although the lighting and toilet flush could be improved. Also i am wondering why their is a jug and cups but no tea bags. I bought tea and did my best. I would suggest that the management considers adding fruit and yoghurt to the breakfast menu and maybe some more vegetarian dishes at night. Also adding a reading light and the bbc news station. Regardless i would stay again it was great!

We loved Lazy Bones! The staff are excellent and could not be more helpful, really nice when they know who you are and call you by name. The common area was really buzzy and we met lots of people. Food and beer were good and reasonably priced. The free walking and bike tours were fantastic, we had a great day exploring Chengdu and ate in a Buddhist Nunnery with the Nuns which has been one of the highlights of our tour so far. Other trips were well priced and good. Highly recommended.

By far my favourite hostel in all of China. Best staff ever!!! These guys went so far out of their way to help us, writing out constant directions for cab drivers in Chinese to all the obscure places we were going to and even fielding phone calls from people looking for us. Rooms were adequate. Fairly clean and nicely decorated. Bathroom smelt strongly of sewage because we were on the main floor and the smell was coming out of the shower drain. Dont think it would be a problem on upper floors.

De staff was amazingly helpful, their English is also very good and give good advice about travelling. The location is perfect, very central. You can walk to the Mao Statue, Wenshu Temple and Renmin Park easily. Atmosphere was very good, beds were comfy. You can borrow a hairdryer which is very convenient! Their trip to the Panda Base was also very well organised. I would recommend this hostel to anyone and if I go to Chengdu again, I would certainly stay here again.

The people who work there are awesome, all so nice and helpful and speak excellent English. Easy to meet people in the common area. Close to the metro, safe location. They also help you plan trips around the area (although sometimes its cheaper to do it on your own). Loved staying here and met some really cool people!

The Hostel was probably our second favorite thing about Chengdu next to the Pandas, but since we booked our panda experience through them, I'd say they tied for first. The staff is excellent, doing everything they could to help us, from writing chinese notes to show locals asking for help in case we needed help to calling people for us when we weren't completely satisfied with something. Their bike night was a worthwhile adventure and we'll always remember it. Thanks! You guys are the best!
