It's an interesting set-up, as it's kind of a room with the neighboring hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful and I immediately felt a warm welcome with them. But, the place itself is not really set up for socializing with other guests, although you could probably meet people in their reception area. But, if you're looking for a place that is kind of like a hotel, had reliable hot water, (and even a bathtub) then this is a good place. The rooms are old and a bit dark, it seems to be a local hotel with some rooms for western people.
Otherwise the localitation is very good near turistics spots. The staff was very very hepfull and nice, they give us a free map and showed the important places to visit, also recomended to take the panda card so we kept some money with the entrances of touristic monuments.The rooms are old and a bit dark, it seems to be a local hotel with some rooms for western people.

It is in fact a Chinese hotel, which we liked, located in a beautiful garden away from the street. We took twin and triple rooms for 2 nights and were satisfied. Rooms are of hotel standard, little worn, which does not matter. About 5mins from the centre and Renmin park with teahouse. Close to Xinnanmen bus station with buses to Leshan, Emeishan. Very nice and English speaking staff. Thank you, Sophie, for all your help and patience! rien à redire J\\\'ai été agréablement surprise par son cadre, la taille de ma chambre et sa propreté! La staff est super disponible, sympa et honnête. Elles ont vraiment la volonté de nous aider au mieux pour organiser notre séjour. Je le recommande à tous. A fantastic little guest house 5 mins from centre. It is equipped with Tea Room and a beautiful garden area. Although my train was delayed by 5 hours staff were nice enough to collect me from the station in spite of this. Staff are wonderful and very helpful. NOTE: Sam's has excellent fees for Panda Centre as well, very good value @ Y50. Rooms were large and en suits are equipped with good plumbing and western toilets. I do not have a bad word to say. I enjoyed 3 nights stay in Sam's Guesthouse - the staff is very friendly and helpful, you can have all information just in a second, so no worries how to fill your time. I definetly recommend the Sam's Guesthouse for few nights.
The place is also good for food, nearby you have a fruit market and many "hot pot" restaurants with really hot stuff there.I enjoyed 3 nights stay in Sam's Guesthouse - the staff is very friendly and helpful, you can have all information just in a second, so no worries how to fill your time. I definetly recommend the Sam's Guesthouse for few nights.
