The new location for Traffic Inn Hostel has not in any way compromised their tradition of customer service, home-like environment and helpful style. The location is only a 10-15 minute walk from the Wenshu Monastery metro stop on line 1 (use Exit G). Easy access by metro to both main railway station (north) or Chengdu Dong (East). Room was huge, comfortable, warm in winter, and had great supply of hot water. In room wi-fi consistently fast. Staff: the best you'll find; English speaking.

A few days before we checked in we received an email that the hostel had changed locations, which meant we weren't near the bus station as I had originally planned. Not a big deal but when we got there, it was a pretty grimey budget hotel. The beds were super hard and the shower was smelly. We stayed 4 nights and they didn't clean our room once. Had a private ensuite so I don't know if other rooms would be different. That all being said, the staff was very nice and helpful.
Room was nice and tidy. If there was hand soap in the bathroom it would have been perfect! Some of the staff spoke very good English and they were willing to help. Because the hostel has recently moved there was a bit wrong information in the posters on the walls for example the time of the breakfast and there red that in the restorant is meals available which wasn't true. Hostel was a bit noisy at the second night we stayed. But this hostel is absolutely good value for money!
Great value for money, great staff, everything you could want in a hostel. Would recommend.
Great hostel! We had a nice big room and staff were very friendly. The tours they offered were fun (the Sichuan Opera is a must see!) and we can surely recommend this hostel to other travelers!
This was one of the best hostels in China we have stayed at. The staff have great english skills, and are knowledgable about the city. The wifi is a bit slow, but that is par for the course in China. Nice rooftop balcony. Overall, nothing really to complain about here.
Nice hostel. Good price and good atmosphere. Insanely slow checking in procedures leaves a big queue at the desk all the time. Even with 3 people behind the desk getting information and checking in can be painfully slow (although I just grabbed a beer from next door for ¥3.5 and waited with many people saying I had the right idea). Don't let this put you off though. Super helpful staff and decent place!
Stayed for 4 nights. The traffic inn moved. Due to the move the hostel and the rooms don't look anything like the pictures. Unpleadant surprise. We'd booked a double room. These are located in the KB hotel (to which it apparentely moved into). First room was a mess! Fungus stains all over the walls, Bathroom was very unclean and smelled bad. Even found a cockroch. Second room was better but still not clean. The staff is very helpfull and kind.

I stayed in a ensuite by myself. I am impressed that a desktop computer was provided. and the speed is acceptable. But the bath towel looks very old.
good place to stay, big common area make it really easy to meet people, helpful staff and loads activities they offer makes my time there really nice.
Internet was a bit slow on the shared computers, but i suppose everyone has like a tablet or something now. Free breakfast! Free beer! kinda cool rooftop bar thing with gnarly metal chinese characters. You could kinda pretend you were the cats of treasure town! location was a little trickier than some other places, but everything else was spot on. And cheap! Some like this needed in Beijing!
nice girl at the travel agency speaks perfect english and is very helpful. rooms are ok and clean.common area on top floor is nice. elevator is slow as hell though. they also provide a free breakfast which was a nice surprise.though packed with people still was not noisy. pay attention to the fact that they moved to a new location NOT near the bus station. the direction on the website are wrong. free shuttle van to the bus station in provided at 7 AM.
New and spacious but theu are renovating an old hotel so bathrooms are ok and there are little bugs (reassured by staff hey arent bedbugs) in all the rooms. Really spacious rooms though, you wil be impressed. Great rooftop chill area. Very big hostel, understaffed at the moment.
In the rooms themselves, though quite large and hotel-like for a hostel, the beds are really uncomfortably hard and our window view out was blocked. The whole place felt a bit drab. Wifi connection was HORRIBLE- could barely get anything to load for the 4 days we spent there. Some staff have some English, some don't, and their recommendations for both dinner places and ticket times for the bus were not good. Fine for 1-2 nights, didn't love it. Free breakfast sounds good but was really not tasty
Really cheap and I recommend this for budget travellers like me.
This is a great hostel! The staff is so helpful! They are all willing to help with everything from finding Train tickets, to taking the bus, to which tours to take, to where the closest McDonalds is! They even go the extra step and write down specifics in Chinese in case we laowai get lost along the way. Couldn't have been more satisfied with the service and overall cheer of the place. I'd definitely stay at this hostel again.

We enjoyed our stay and as the hostel had just moved to a new location and the room we booked was not available, we were upgraded to a better room for no extra cost which was great! We went to see the pandas through the hostel which was easy and a good trip and Juan was great to sit and chat with. Overall, a good stay ^_^
It was so good and convienent that I extended my stay, even with national week going on! This new location is transforming as the days go by; it would be unfair to judge Traffic Inn too harshly based on how little time they have had to fix up the mismanaged hotel. The staff at reception and in the lounge are awesome! And they try really hard to help you out or fix any mistakes. In the dorm room it was very spacey but one toilet to share can get a bit tough.
