Excellent location for our stay in Chester. Only slight downside was the size of the bathroom - really very small and the shower temperature was either very hot or barely warm. To be fair very minor points and I would definitely recomment this place as a great budget stop over if visiting Chester.

Stayed in one of the double rooms, so it was more like a hotel. Nice room/building with a tv. Great for city centre and train station

Not a place I would return - only use if you are only looking for a cheap stag and hen nights/cash strapped backpacker - unsocial communial spaces, toliet and shower that needed renovations years ago, uncomfy beds - spend the extra 10quid and upgrade to hotel

An old building but not too far from town and pretty secure. We were just passing through, arrived by night and left early morning so didnt get too much of a feel for the place but the kitchen looked OK and I slept well so no complaints ;) Cheers

bad air because too many people in one room with one small window. breakfast is supposed to be included, but you just get some cereals, no milk or anything else..the staff was really nice though

Owner Comment (Show)
The management would like to put across a few stricking errors with your review. Firstly, we DO NOT do breakfast. This is clearly stated when you book through hostel world. Secondly, cereals in the kitchen are FREE and anyone who stays at the hostel is welcome to help themselves, therefore milk is not provided. However if you walk 20 seconds from the kitchen to the convenience store you can get a litre of milk there for 89p. Lastly, ALL female guests are asked if they wish to stay in the 8 bed FEMALE ensuite dorm which incidently is quite lovely. However as you were with your male friend you decided to stay in the larger male dorm. This was your choice !!!
