The hostel is awesome. Good location, clean, fun. Every night the staff organizes an activity for the guests. So, it is very easy to know other travellers. However, I think they should have a restaurant/bar in the hostel.

Far and away the best hostel i have ever stayed at, and i've stayed in over 20! It has fantastic staff, a great location and all the little amenities that you wish other places have. It is super clean and spacious and feels like a little luxurious. Common room is a great environment for meeting and making friends. 100%

This hostel is really, really great! It is in the best area in Chicago - surrounded by beautiful architecture and pretty streets. It has easy access to the trains, buses, and everything! The whole hostel was well organised, the staff are friendly and helpful and I could have lived on the breakfast provided alone! Seriously good value for money.

It was very nice hotel in a pretty area. It is a bit far from the downtown...about 20 minutes train ride. the only problem i find with the hotel is that the room was very cold. The first night i didn't get any sleep at all. The following night after i complained someone checked the room and gave us 4 extra blankets. The staff is very helpful and very sweet!

This was an excellent place to stay for me and my partner, who were in Chicago for 3 nights. This is a sleek operation which knows exactly what guests want from their stay - a clean, friendly, comfortable and amazing value place close to loads of restaurants and the subway. Breakfast was lovely - bagels, cereal, fruit and there looked to be some good activities provided. A pretty quiet place in the large, nicely decorated private rooms - perfect.

This place was super clean, the staff was super nice and it had a cool vibe. The girl who checked me in ( cute Asian girl) was extremely friendly welcoming and efficient. She kind of made the whole thing swing off right. I forgot your name but thanks!!!

Absolutely wonderful! Surpassed expectations! Everyone went out of their way to be thoughtful/helpful! My only suggestions: A rubber mat in the shower and bath mat outside. Several chairs in dormitory or small tables to put "stuff" ( eyeglasses, etc) on when sleeping.

The hostel was fantastic, it had a great feel about it and was a very welcoming place. However My bed was constantly having the sheets being changed when I wasn't checking out. It got tedious towards the end, and it would be helpful if the wifi was not just in the common rooms, and the powerpoints needed mending, otherwise, fantastic!

This hostel is in a great location - really pretty street and so close to loads of restaurants, pubs etc. The shared areas are awesome - the tv room has the best couch ever, and the backyard bbq and lounge chairs are great. Free wifi and internet was also a plus and being able to bring booze in was good too. My only negative was the bunk beds not so comfy, very wobbly and really noisey. Plus there's not even enough room to sit up if you're on the bottom bunk, this was a bit uncomfortable.

So far I have visited hostels in China (Beijing and Erdao Bai He, Jilin Province, NE of China). The Chicagoan hostel has so far benn the best by far - I didn ' t miss anything, excellent infrastructure. Compared to Russian gostinizas (means hotel) in Far East Russia I had visited in summer this year (Vladivostok, Magadan, Sussuman) the Getaway is paradise !

dorms without bathroom almost better than ensuite dorms as bathrooms there often very dirty. air in basement dorms very bad and fan not working properly. breakfast could be till 10. or at least coffee - 60 $ for a dorm is not really cheap... nice tv room and lounge area though.

The best hotesl i 've ever seen! Great staff & great place to make friends! We enjoy the stay here and would definitely come back again & recommend to friends! It takes 7-8 min walk from the metro but it is fine to us.
