Good price. Free computer with Internet. OK breakfast(Not too many choices but keep refill). Nearby by zoo(free admission)
I chose this location to explore a neighborhood: a rich quiet intellectual quarter with restos and sites even my Chicago friends wanted to sample. Downtown is close, 15 minutes by train. This hostel is one of the best, well organized, friendly at all hours; no complaints except the 12-man dorm could use a more frequent sweeping under the bunks. Had I said something, I am sure they would have taken care of it immediately. I am tempted to return in spring for Chicago and for Getaway.
A solid hostel. Massive size. If you're road tripping parking is a major pain but I suspect it's the same at any decent location in Chicago. I'd stay here again.
Might be nice to have water dispensers or fountains on each level.
Best hostel I stayed in USA by far.. Great location, always felt safe even alone and in the dark during the 10 minute walk to the subway. Staff are great! The nights out they plan along with free food and in general encouraging everyone to socialise was brilliant. The free breakfast also the best I have had! Stay here!
Broken, noisy heater cycled on and off every minute of every hour all night in the dorm room. Thermostat must be faulty. For what you pay for a bed (about $40 per night), it's absurd that they deny people a decent's nice sleep and continue to run that contraption. At 4:30 a.m., I was ready to climb the walls, so I packed up and went to the desk to check out. A refund should be given in situations like this, as it's impossible to make other arrangements in the dead of night.
Really nice place with friendly staff!

There is no security deposit box in room.
Great place! It was fun and the people really nice. The only problem is the location, but you just have to walk a 3 blocks to get the bus and metra station.
It is a good place .The staff is helpful and kind. The atmosphere is excellent.
Beautiful hostel with premiere location. Loved the wide spaces and ceiling to floor windows with a spectacular view of city life. Great volunteer desk - very helpful and have never seen this before. Every amenity and supportive service for the traveller was well thought out - the attention to detail was the best I have ever experienced in all my stays in hostels around the world.
I was staying at the hostel for an academic conference and the place was exactly what I needed!
Can't flaw this hostel in any way. Has everything you'd want. Great location - right around the corner from bars/restaurants and only 10 minutes from Lincoln Park. Excellent Staff. Nightly events - if you're there on a Monday, go on their blues night - it's amazing. Even if you're not there on a Monday ask them about the blues place.
Good hostel definitey if not for the bed which are not very steady if you're up in a dorm
Check in was so late. I don't know why in some hostels they want to do the check in at 4pm. A waste of time for travellers.
The hostel is in a great neighborhood of Chicago, the activities were fun and the staff was very helpful.
Really Really good!! Best Hostel I've been to yet!! Great atmosphere
One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. Comfortable beds, spacious room (we stayed in a 4-bed private), good breakfast, very helpful staff. A little bit too industrial-feeling perhaps. The location is beautiful, with Lincoln Park very close by. The steps out the front of the hostel are very slippery in the rain - I found out the humiliating way!
