I've stayed here a couple times, but this time... was the worst. The room I was put in was DISGUSTING! The pillows were disgusting. Thank god I brought my own. The showers were god awful. I'm taking my business to another hostel elsewhere on my next trip to Chicago. It is pretty much as cheap as it gets.

I love this place, I've stayed here several times...the showers are always hot (if a little funky), its right near the red line el-train, the staff are super nice and friendly... I'll definitely return...

I just needed a place to sleep at night so I wasn't looking for a place that was a whole lot of fun. Worked out just fine for me.

no locks in bathrooms which is quite disappointing. the bedroom and the kitchen are very very dirty which is very unacceptable. But the staff is very nice and helpful. The location is a bit far away from downtown but the neighbourhood is quite nice and relaxing.

While the staff was friendly at the hostel. The fact that they do not give you key to the room is ridiculus. Felt like I was a prisoner there. If that would'nt bother you, a cheap stay.

Ive stayed in there for just one night, and it was fine. The hostel is pretty far away from downtown, about 40 minutes by CTA train. But the train station is close, and the area seems safe. The staff seem friendly, I didn\\\'t have any troubles checking in. For cleanliness, well, after all the reading the reviews I was expecting worse )) The bathrooms seemed fine. There were no bunk beds, at least in my room, and there was enough space. Overall, really ok for the price.

This is perhaps the most bare-bones hostel I have stayed in. It was like a dormitory that had been stripped of all its fixtures and only some replaced with those from thrift stores. It also bothered me a bit that hostelers where checked-in drunk at 3:00 AM. The staff was however quite professional and I was glad to be so close to my destination. Street parking is quite challenging in the evenings.

A good hostel and I will stay there again. The lakefront is two blocks away and there is a major university campus across the street. All needed services are within easy walking distance. Transportation to major attractions is near via the Red Line rail train. Thanks much! Kathleen

Night mare... I arrived at noon, and have to wait until 2pm at the street with my luggage because the person at the front desk said that was closed... The males bathroom on the 2nd flor are not working since last week since I also was there and are full of pee and old stuff and stin ky, thats not safe. They dont give you a key for your room, none of the lockers work, so there is no where to place for sure your laptop, or money. Its a shame that there are so few hostels in Chicago
