Chill Hostel Reviews

Not a very "chill" hostel. This is a party hostel. The house is amazing, but the accommodations are a bit crowded and not properly cleaned. The neighborhood seems safe and all, but the inattentive staff is the main problem with Chill Hostel.

The staff were friendly but unfortunately the main dorm was too open and even tho they had lockers stuff was still going missing. Wouldnt reccommend this hostel

This is a place that you'll either love or hate. It's on the edge of a favela and the people who hang around are rather...eccentric. I personally enjoyed both of these aspects of the hostel, but, call me lazy, I didn't like the hike up the hill to get to the hostel. They were great about not raising their prices around New Year's, so were an amazing deal for us!

The hostel location gives you a great opportunity to see life in the fevelas. The staff were always friendly and helpful and the views were awesome.

El hostel se encuentra cercano de la playa y la favela no parece peligrosa. El que atiende un Austriaco, es muy simpatico. Por lo demas existen personas que viven ahi, muy desagradables, una señora mayor que anda caminando gritando y llorando por todos lados, un grupo de jovenes que hacen fiestas y lanzan fuegos artificiales con unos ruidos espantosos y gente que les reclama desde la parte de arriba. Cuando yo llegue no hubo nadie para recibirme y tube que esperar durante horas.

Absolutely loved this place... The perfect way to end 3 months in South America... Everything about it was safe, the staff are brilliant to hang out with and you meet some sound characters in the place... Would recommend it to anybody..

Great place. Had a hard time leaving them, they are like a famile. We will Definitely come back!

We stayed in a double ensuite. If cockroaches, black mouldy walls, missing floortiles, damp, smelly, no hot water, loud noise until 4am, constantly stoned/drunk staff are your thing then this place is for you! We hated it and only one staff member (the cleaner) was of any help. The rest were either never around or too out of it to be of much help! It is very close to a favela and very noisy at night. How this place got an 83% rating is a complete mystery to us. We don't recommend this hovel!

Although it locates next to a favella, we felt ourself very safty! Excellent location, 8minutes walk from Copacabana, but you have to climb a little bit! The staff was friendly and helpful!There is free wifi as well and 60R airport pick up. From the roofterrace you have view to the ocean! Excellent price/value ratio!!!
