i wish we had 4 5 days off for May Day! great times in Moscow at Chillax! very cool and interesting international crowd here! and the fact that there were all sorts of holidays from May Day to Russian Easter going on made it an intersting experience in learning about Russian culture too!

very cool people here! organized nighly events, besides great staff and a few really interesting Russians here, meet people from all over the world (fellow americans, UK, Australian, France, South Korea etc). the only downside - everyone was soooo cool, that i made friends with everyone, and promised to visit them all... now all i need is tons of cash for all these trips! thanks for everything!

we were there for May Day, which is a day of in Russia, so we ended up spending a day out in the great weather exploring the city, with the hostel staff giving us all the information we needed including cool non-touristy tips on what to do and where to go! very central and very nice place!

Chillax hostel is great! It's in a great part of the city and very central. It's very busy so you meet people from all over russia and the world. It's a bit cramped but you get secure lockers and the kitchen facilities are good. And there's a great common room where everyone hangs out and plays games. I would definitely stay there again

Very good common room and facilities. They have PCs for people to use which is great for people who travel without a computer. Too many hostels only have wi-fi these days. What some of the other reviews said was true, there were loads of Russian people who appeared to be living there. This is not necesarily a bad thing, especially if you want to meet Russian people, it just means that not everyone there is looking for the same hostel experience.

I first took the 14bed dormroom and that was a big mistake. There is no space between the bed (you sleep with the feets of your nabor on your head, and you share yours to the next one, etc). The place is packed with 50% of weido people who have nothing else to do than watching TV very loud, open the light during the light, play with they F*** telephone. 2 shower and 2 toilets for all (dont try to moove on it). Not enought secure for everybody. 50% of staff sepak english Bref, I do not recomand.

Too many beds crammed into a small room. And people living there full time makes it very clicky, as an outsider I felt a little intimidated. Dirty bathrooms too. And the place smells. Nice staff though. Sometimes, some were angry!

The hostel is comfortable, clean, in the city center (whitin walking distance to the red square etc.) and in a area that fells safe. At some point I had a problem to solve, and the staff members helped me out very nicely! Plus the price was much lower than other hostel, so don't hesitate to go there.

The Chillax hostel was great, with all the facilities that are needed in a hostel. The staff are very helpful and the price was reasonable. I'd certainly recommend this hostel to friends visiting Moscow.

Nice hostel with very friendly staff but the atmosphere is a bit odd. Full of people just sitting dazed and silent on their laptops in the common area. Even talking quietly feels like a bit of an intrusion.

Is a normal hostel. Very clean and nice staff. Probably the location is not the best in Moscow, as is nothing to see around, but is well connected by subway to others places. The lounge area is really cozy and beds really confortable. I would clam for more fun.

When I arrived, no one greeted me. When I announced my presence, the clerk was very surprised to see me. There was no welcome.. She went to show me my bed, but insisted she check first to see if it was clean. There was no linen so she threw some linens on the bed and said, "this is your bed." It was 1:30am and she couldn't find my locker key for 15 minutes. There were no towels and no efforts made to find me a towel or a towel substitute. All other guests were drunk and very loud in the lobby.

Most people at the hostel were Russians living there. There is nothing wrong with this per se, but unfortunately there weren't many people to talk to as not many people spoke English. The staff were very friendly and were very helpful when trying to find your way around Moscow. There was a small altercation with the downstairs neighbour but this was clearly not a frequent occurrence. The hostel is also quite stuffy and extremely hot. Very uncomfortable when trying to sleep.
