The hostel was safe and clean, the 2 most important things really.

If you're a solo female traveler & want to ensure you stay in a female dorm, ensure you check with the reception staff before you lug your baggage up the 2+ flight of stairs, cos the guy who dealt with me was apparently new & gave me a key to a (smelly) room with a boy in it. U have to pay/put a deposit to use cutlery/crockery. I overheard some girls said they saw cockroaches in the kitchen and I saw a dead one in the corridor, the morning I left. The bathrooms are old & dirty with no locks.

The bathroom was a mess. The rooms too small and no atmosphere at all. You can't use the kitchen without having to ask for utensils at the reception. Very noise, too.

The hostel has a great location to get to anywhere in the city. The aircondiioning in the rooms is great and the staff are very helpfull is helping you if they can.

I do enjoy my stay at chilli back packer and in my opinion was a lot better than most hostel that I had stay b4 in the asia and pacific region and europe etc. The place was clean and the enviroment very decent and that make me feel comfortable. I would have stay longer if only I have more time to spare in darwin. anyway all the best and thanks a lot for your courtesy. L AW kiing Ai

Really enjoyed the couple nights I had in this hostel... not only friendly staff but also helpful, and for no extra charge :D liked the free breakfast you get, think that the cleanliness of the hostel was better than the cleanliness of Darwin in general, lol, would definitely recommend it.
