great idea to offer free laptops for the guests! Very good service! I loved the idea to put a kind of balcony in the room instead of bunks. The balcony was my favorite place to watch all the things happening in Taksim. Although the Hostel was full, everything was kept tidy. good job. I will come back and I will recommend this place to everyone. thanks guys:)

Not recommended. We booked 2 beds in a 3 bedroom but it turned to be 3 beds on top of a room of 6. It does say on the website It's an atic and small size, but they don't tell you that tiny room It's on top of a dormitory. That means to get in and out you need to go through someone else's room PLUS your are listening to their noises. On top of that, rooms are dirty and I don't think they've ever cleaned the carpets. On their favour I will say the location is great so is the staff working there.

Chill out hostel is located at the best location of town. Near Taksim, the heart of the city and in the middle of the nightlife of Istanbul. We didn't encounter to much noise during the nights. The staff was very helpful and the atmosphere in the hostel was very relax.

Excellent Location. EGreat for meeting people. Great for college students or travellers, so may different kinds of people. The owner/host is amazing, will show you great resteraunts and places to party. The clubs are walking distance away, but not so close to make the hostel noisy. I loved it so much, will definately stay again.

We didnt get the room we had booked and instead got a very strange and disgusting room. It was probably over booked. I have been staying at a few places in Istanbul, but this one may be the worst one.

LOVE Chillout Cengo. Fantastic hostel, full of character, comfy beds, wonderful and helpful staff, very central location(so ear plugs recommended on a Saturday night!). Would absolutely recommend this hostel and would definitely go back, i had a really lovely stay there.

Great hostel, friendly, vibrant staff - nice communal kitchen. It is hard to find at first (because it is down a few side streets) but the night staff came out to meet us which was very kind. People continually walk through 14 bed dorm to smoke on balcony so if you like your rest maybe book a smaller dorm.. bathrooms could be nicer. But these are small complaints since it was a wonderful place to stay and served as a fantastic introduction to Istanbul!

The staff made you feel very comfortable and made the hostel seem homey. Also the hostel is an a perfect location right next to the main street where there is always something to see and do and next 2all the bars.

We stayed at a different hostel of the same chain - Chillout for one night and moved to Chillout Cengo for three nights. In both places the staff was very-very-very nice!!!! both hostels are decorated with care and good taste. our room in the Chillout Cengo was spacious and clean, had a big window going out to a small street. this is the best hostel we've ever stayed at!!!

I had a wonderful time at chillout. The owners and staff made it feel like a home away from home. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

My 3rd stay, was happy before, now I m extra satisfied, the owner has improved many facilities. The atmosphere is as always: wonderful, fun, friendly. The staff knows absolutely everything about the city and they are happy to help. What I love about this place is that you can be yourself, quiet or outgoing, u ll find a spot in this establishment! I made some good friends there...

I had a very brief stay but staff were friendly and I was in a very cosy dorm room with plenty of space for my stuff. Much appreciated since it was so cold outside!

A pretty funky, grungy, comfortable and social hostel. Rooms vary greatly, some with springy mattresses (not in the good way) and smelly pillows (time for an upgrade), others comfortable but pretty crowded. Be aware, three bed dorms are up a ladder in the attic. Going through a bit of changeover at the moment, it will be interesting to see what happens.
