Very nice and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and were exactly what we were looking for. We were looking for something a bit quieter and it was perfect. Location was only about 5-10 mins from the bus station and 15-20 to the center of town (Plaza Independencia). I would definitely stay at Chimbas again. You pay a little extra for cleanliness and peace and quiet which to me is worth it.

Great staff, very helpful. Breakfast is ok, with a good kitchen. Location is a 15 min walk, but easy enough. Good hostel for couples in private rooms

Although Chimbas is a good bit out of the city center, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. The bus connections to town are easy and cheap , and the money you save makes it well worth it. The staff is made up of just really nice guys that are super friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help and answer any questions. The rooms are also really big, as is the well-equipped kitchen. Really clean too, thanks to the hard working mother of the house.

Nice staff, quiet room, beautiful garden. Unfortunately there was no water in the pool.

Although Chimbas is out of town (it is near the bus station) it is only a short bus ride away or a 20 peso cab so that wasn't an issue at all for us. We met some great people and there are some nice restaurants near by. Claudio also arranged all our trips for us and was really helpful. Have stayed there twice and would definitely go back.

Although it is a small walk into town, Chimbas hostel ticked all the boxes. Nice kitchen, great socialising space, comfortable, clean rooms and decent breakfast. The staff couldn't be more helpful - even though we head a late night bus to leave Mendoza, they let us hang around and use all the facilities. The garden is a lovely place to hang out in the evenings and the swimming pool is refreshing after a hot day wine tasting!

We loved this little bed and breakfast. Mostly couples because it offers private rooms at good rates, this hostel is a beautiful old house and always very clean. The garden is beautiful, and very nice breakfast of bread, spreads, and coffee. The staff was always helpful, but not always available: there´s no front gate key available, and sometimes no one will hear the doorbell. Ótherwise great! Mendoza´s best kept secret!

We had a perfect stay at Chimbas. The staff is so very helpfull and kind, the house is really beautifull with a lot of original details and we enjoyed our stay there. The rooms, kitchen and common area including patio and pool are great. It´s close to the busterminal and about 20 minutes walk from citycentre, which is perfect!

This hostel was fantastic! Great spacious private rooms for the cost of dorms, its more like a B&B really but when in the city of wine, this hostel is where you want to stay. It has a great kitchen for preparing meals with plenty of preparation space and even has an array of herbs and spices and other essentials for your use. The pool and outdoor area is a great place to eat meals and socialise and the whole hostel has a very relaxed feel. We planned 2 nights and stayed 5, wished we stayed 7!

We had a great room with a nice on suite. Owner gave us a very thorough talk about facalities and finding our way around Mendoza. Great kitchen, pool, social space. Let down slightly by a poor breakfast spread (bread and jam only) but otherwise would highly reccomend as great value for money and a lovely way to spend your time in Mendoza.

Great hostel, great staff, very nice atmosphere, wonderful rooms with very clean facilities. The back garden is dreamy - perfect spot to read or have coffee. Nice kitchen in a house with a ton of character. Only drawback might be the distance from the town center - it takes about a 20 minute walk to get there, but the relaxed, quiet environment is well worth it and it is an easy walk if you dont mind. Lovely place.

Chimbashostel is a nice home turned into a hostel. It gets very hot there though and there is no ac. We had a private double with shared bathroom and had to go downstairs to use the bathroom ... Plus there are 2 bathrooms only and the second is outside. Awful!! Def pay more for a private bathroo . The location is so far from town too!!! Not worth the savings after you have to take cabs to and from town at night because it's sketchy to walk past the bus station...

Really friendly and helpful staff. They will give you all the info you need for ex. visiting wineyards and renting bikes. We arrived to the hostel early in the morning, before check-in, but they let us eat breakfast free of charge and wait in the garden. Check out is at 10.00, but we could store our bags and use the showers later, also FOC. Location is a bit off, but definitely not a problem, it's a 10 min walk to the centre. You can walk from the busstation.

We spent three nights at Chimbas and we really enjoyed our stay. Very clean hostel and the staff is very helpful. The garden with tables and the pool is a great place to relax and have dinner (maybe better than a terrace in town !). Very close from the bus station, a good 20 minutes walk from downtown. We recommend !

Great place to stay, but not super close to the city center. Although it\'s an easy walk. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Staff were extremely helpful, especially Leandro. The hostel is located close to the Bus Terminal, and about 15 - 20 blocks to the centre. Some would consider this a negative point, but if you want to walk around and get a feel for the city this is great. A reason why the location isn't bad is that the taxi cost is very cheap. If you can't be bothered to walk it, a taxi to Av Espana costs 20 ARS. That is cheap. I was coming from Chile and there travelling by taxi is costly. Overall, brilliant !

Really great hostel! We booked a triple room, which was really spacious and clean, with a bathroom, and proper shower!! The boys were really helpful in providing us with a map on arrival outlining places to visit etc. They had plenty of tours on offer. Breakfast incl. lovely courtyard, great kitchen and pool to cool off! Only draw back was it wasn't close to plaza etc. But would definately stay here again! Thanks for a really enjoyable stay in Mendoza!
