It was a cheap hostel, for the price okay, they clean every day and the people working there are nice and helpful. The kitchen equipment is poor (no fridge, ugly and dirty pans) but for the price okay. And really close to the beach.

Chimu beach is great. Great location, cheap, cheerful, clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Theres a nice kitchen and decent wifi. The staff/owners brought us to a salsa night and another night we all had a BBQ. Couldnt fault the place

Although the hostel was very cheap, the quality of rooms and facilities was low. Our room was basic, dirty with ants and had no windows. Of course I understand that you get what you pay for, but there were other hostels nearby that were the same price and much better, we didn't change as we were only spending one night! I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this hostel.

Two days prior to my arrival to Trujillo, I received an e-mail from Chimù Beach to cancel my reservation because they were in a construction project. I tried to contact them to reverse my reservation deposit but never answered. When I visited Huanchaco Beach to visit the installation no taxi driver or resident could tell me where Chimù Beach Hoste was. It was very disappointing to find such an irresponsiblity from a Hostel Worldwide reccomended hotel.
