The hostel has a very homely touch which makes you immediately feel at home. It provides all that a modern traveller needs (wifi etc.). A few drawbacks are made up by the overall, very good impression: it is a little bit hard to find, better indications on the front door would make it much easier . The 6-bed-dorm is really, really cramped if it's fully occupied. And a separate toilet would have been nice when all the bathrooms are occupied for a long time... But: I'll come back, definitively!

This hostel is located some distance away from the Guting MRT station but is walkable. It is very near to Shida Night Market and many western restaurants around. Hostel is very clean as the staff clean the place everyday. Many basic amenities are provided: washing machines, hairdryer, towels, internet...., making my stay very pleasant and hassle-free. Staff are very friendly and approachable. It also allows different age group to stay in. Thank you chocolate box!

I thought it was a nice hostel. I stayed in a female dorm, and it was a bit crowded, the room was kind of small for all of those people and their luggage.

Great hostel. The staff is amazing and very helpful (thanks to Nikita and Darren!!!) Felt a bit like home in this big appartment. There are only two bathrooms but didn't have a problem with this. The MTR is really close and Shida night market is just a 5 minutes walk away. Made a lot of new friends from all over the world :) I would definitely come back here!

The hostel was very clean, had nice facilities, free coffee and tea, bananas and toast in the morning, and a guitar which is always a bonus. The dorm is packed with beds but is surprisingly comfortable. You can't get much better of a location either.

Great place! Abit small and cramt but felt like a home. The rooms were alittle bit cramped but it just added to the atmosphere! Great people and good location!

Good location near the Guting MRT station and the Shida night market. With also a convenience store close-by, at least you can never starve from hunger. The staff is very friendly, helpful and speak good English. The hostel itself is quite small but it has a cozy atmosphere and the common room is relatively big compared to the size of the hostel. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Very friendly and relaxed feeling, felt like being at a house rather than a hostel. Flexible schedules!

Arriving at Chocolate Box is like arriving at home. It's so cosy and comfortable and colourful! I met a lot of lovely people and the owner and guys who work here are extremely friendly and clued-up about the goings on in Taiwan. I 100% recommend this place if you're going to stay in Taipei! It's also situated in a really cute neighbourhood with lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and boutiques. I found myself popping in to say 'hello' even after I'd checked out! I loved this place!

Good location. Friendly staff. The bed was very clean. It would be much better if there is more than 2 bathrooms.

Cozy little hostel. Staff are very friendly, and it is an ideal place to meet other travelers. A little tricky to find at first but in a great location (very central). The only downside is there are too few bathrooms that have to be shared.

It is kind of sketchy going to the hostel at night because it seems like it is down a dark alley way, so it is best that guests know that before coming.
