Hostel is in a great location.Near Copacabana beach. Easily reach by the airport shuttle (Although it takes about 1.5 hrs but this is the shuttle route). The room where I stayed was small though but clean and enough for a person travelling with a descent amount of luggage (backpackers should be fine). Breakfast is fine, with coffee, bread, jam, cheese, juice... just what you need and what you can expect from a hostel. Staff is friendly and helpful. If I go back to Rio, I def. stay here again.

The hostel is near the Copacabana Beach and there are a lot of stores and restsurants in this area... The owners are very friendly and familiar. The only thing we did not like was the bathroom which was very Small and we had to pass through other dorms to get there... I recomend this hostel because it is in a safe place and the breakfast is very good also

The location is perfect, really close to Copacabana and right in front of a subway station. The only disadvantage is that two of the three bedrooms are a sort of corridor: people go through them to reach other places, so you don't have much sense of "room". I found it a bit expensive in relation to its quality, but again, the location is so good... I guess it depends on what do you expect from the hostel!

The rooms are very very small. Moreover we booked a privated room for six people and they send us to a very big room with more people without any compensation. It was a fraud.

The location of the hostel and the building are really good. The staff is nice, but most of them don't speak english. Internet/WiFi was good and fast. But i have to mention the things i didn't like too. The rooms are really full with beds, so there is not much room for the luggage (maybe fewer beds would be better here). Luckily there were not many people in the hostel, so not a big problem for me. The lockers need some special lock, i could not use the lock i used in many other hostels.

We actually had booked a 6 bed room. But we didn't know that this room was connected with another room with 10 more beds and there was no door in between to close, so we actually slept in a 16-bed-room. The other thing is that the girls bathroom was very dirty. Both toilets were blocked during some hours. The next morning the waste bin hadn't been emptied, everything fell out and lay on the floor. I wouldn't go there again, you can find much better hostels in rio and for a better price. Cheers

This place has so much potential...it's a shame how they run the business. You need to be buzzed in and buzzed out at all hours of the day. Consequently, you are standing outside the door 75% of the time waiting to access your room. There were 2 nights when they took at least an hour to come to the door. Also, they kicked me out of the hostel 3 days early because they had a "water problem." The location, beds, and staff are fantastic. If they had good management it would be a top 5 place.

Mixed feelings about this hostel: liked that it is modern from the inside but has character from the outside. Most of the staff only speaks Portuguese though - not a problem for me but it was annoying for others. The rooms were not spacious enough, but were clean and lockers were provided. Negative: strange guests (seemed like homeless Brazilians) and the female bathroom could only be reached by walking trough our dorm (so we'd wake up several times by girls from other dorms crossing our dorm).

One of the best hostel I've stayed in. The location is perfect (right next to the metro station, a few blocks from Copacabana beach), the rooms are clean, linen is provided and smellls really good! The staff is really nice, maybe just a little strict about breakfast schedule. Appart from that, everything is perfect, we even stayed there one more night the week after.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hello Elise, We were sad about your evaluation on Hostel World. In fact, the week that you arrived, we went through some difficulties. However, as we are concerned with cleaning and hygiene, I can not understand how her sheets were smelly. You could have warned us, so we might have your sheets chaged. I hope next time we can have a better communication. See ya!

Pros +Clean and new +4 bed dorm was good Cons -Staff don´t speak english (difficult to handle anything) -Larger dorms are really cramped and people walk through them to get to their room or bathroom -Cooking facilities are for staff only. Just fridge and a microwave for guests.

By far the nicest aspect of the Hostel is its downstairs living room area. But thats as far as it goes. Staff didn't speak English. There was no kitchen! No alcohol, nor groups were allowed. There was no atmosphere as people 'had' to mostly stick to themselves. Meeting other travelers here is hard and staff doesn't encourage it. The 8 bed dorm room was actually a 16 bed dorm as there was hardly any separation between the adjoining rooms. Not to mention that the AC was freezing!!!

I think one of the best hostels that I have stayed in. Very nice lounge space to hang out in and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Would stay there again no problems at all. Would recomend this hostel to anyone going to Rio.

There was only one Girl (very attractive, young girl) that was extremely helpful. She helped us find our way to a Botafogo football game which was miles away. The other staff spoke little English, but enough to get by. There were people who kept walking through our room, which was anoying. I had to put a block on the sliding door and a note on the other door. This walkway should be blocked.

Out of all the hostels I have stayed in this one was very disappointing. We booked a six person room but in reality two other rooms were connected with only an archway as a divider between them so in actual fact it was a 20 person room. The beds were so close together it was uncomfortable. The lockers were too small to lock up a regular size backpack so there was nowhere to store them when the room was accessible to so many people. We left after one night and were refused a refund. Avoid!

I have strong mixed feelings about this new hostel which is located in a prime location 3 blocks from the beach and surrounded by many ammenity´s. The wi/fi was not working so I requested that I be allowed to use the free computer stations set up in the lobby beyond the 9am to midnight rules. I was turned down repeatedily by Rachel the staff member who was rude from the beginning and is nothing short of a brat and should be FIRED. With a hands on owner with courage this could be the best hostel.
