Hostel has a very good location and is not too bad in general, but wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends.

the lobby is full of smoking smell and the water of shower at night was very very cold.

Very disappointed. The hostel was well positioned, but felt grubby. The room I was in didn't seem to have been cleaned ever, and problems with their checkout system seemed to leave someone in the dorm with no bed, something he hammered home by repeatedly switching the lights on and off at 2am. In a city with so many hostels, i wouldn't go back to that one...

Great location in the heart of the city but that is the only good thing about this hostel. Run down and grubby, poor bathroom and bedroom facilities. The rest of the people staying in my room were long term residents. There are much nicer places to stay in central Auckland costing maybe a couple of doors a night.

Choice Plaza is a great place to stay in Auckland. The place was full of people from many different countries when I stayed there, Germans, Irish, English, Koreans, Chileans and of course the Argentinians. There were tons of Argentinians, all of whom know how to have a lot of fun. If you're an english speaker, do yourself a favor and at least say "Hola, como estas?" to any of the Argentinians, and you will find that they speak excellent english, know a lot about the city, and are very friendly!

Dank, dark and filthy. Don't stay there if you can't speak spanish because everybody is Iberian or hispanic and they stay up really late and chat loudly right outside your door. Good location though!
