The stuff was very helpfuII.But the kitchen and the area was narrow. We stayed in two rooms, one is excellent but the other one was basement apartment and it was cold for the first night. When we said this, they heated the room well for the other two days. But I could'nt recommend this basement room. The location was near center was good. But the hostel was combined two other buildings.İt was the bad points because the other building was next to two streets ahead.

Basic but satisfactory. Not much of a common area. Seemingly very thin walls, from the dorm you can hear everything including the plumbing. But pretty good breakfast, no major complaints, did the trick just fine.

Hostel is nice....we were there (2 persons) at the end of january 2012. The room with private bathroom was nice (in secret garden), clean, the cleaning lady used to come every day. The only problem was, that it was a bit cold in the room (we were in a period of very cold weather); but even the cleaning lady was instructed to left the window open as she finished her work. At secret garden, on the top, there is a terrace where you can "cook"...actualy you dont, cuz everything is broken and empty:)

A little hard to spot the place from the street but aside from that it was a solid investment.

Nice staff, clean place, good location and a fair price. The breakfast was also quite of good. The problem is that they have two buildings (two blocks away). In the main one they had internet but in the other one (where i was), they hadn't. Both of them have a kitchen, but the breakfast it is served just in the main one. And the oven of the other one was not working. Definitely i would recommend.

Considering the price and the location, the hostel is very good. As others have commented, the rooms are in a different building than the reception, so that there is nobody of the staff near the rooms. It is recommended.

Positives: Good breakfast if you arrive early. There are a number of things to choose from. Free pasta available on Friday and Saturdays if you want to save on cost (though the quality is very average) but provides a perfect opportunity to meet other travellers. Staff are very helpful and do their best to answer any questions. Good value! Negatives: Not the cleanest. The sheets definitely have stains and they don't change it during your stay. The bathrooms are average. Cramped rooms.

The advertised "wifi in the private rooms" was inaccessible. The "private room breakfast" offered was a coupon to the bar down stairs. I wasn't happy with that at all. My friend couldn't get a hot chocolate instead of coffee without having to pay and the whole breakfast consisted of one pastry and one coffee. Not even water. The hostel didn't have a map of Rome so I had to go buy a map. Usually hostels give out the one page map. It was an average experience, but not a bad one.

My stay at Ciak was very enjoyable. I appreciated the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the Secret Garden rooms, the breakfast, and the facilities. My only problems were that I could not get connected to the internet at the Secret Garden location and the lockers at Secret Garden were small. Overall, a great stay, and I met some really great people. THANKS!

Excellent!!! There's no other word to describe my stay with Ciak Hostel. Staff so helpul and made me feel welcomed and comfortable all the time. I've visited plenty of hostels in my life and I've never found one with this high quality: really close to the metro station, comfortable, brilliant breakfast and amazing staff. Would recommend it and return there next time in Rome for sure!!!!

Here ia a very important thing to know: Number 55 on Vialle Manzoni is where the hostel is located...but there are 4 different buildings with number 55 on it! We were totally confused and had no idea what was going on when we came across an empty building at number 55. So you just have to keep looking down the street -- it IS there! It would have been nice to have been warned about this beforehand. Otherwise, we stated in the Secret Garden part of Ciak in Room #1 which was very nice.

One of the staffs who was on duty on the night of our arrival at the hostel served us coldly and we felt like unwelcome. Please mind your behaviour when dealing with customers because it was your customer who pays your salary. Thank you.

Dawn was a great host and a very kind lady. roommates were jerks so kinda made my stay bad, but not the fault of the hostel. small socialising area made it harder to meet people, but dawn and her sister assisted in this deficiency, providing good company and positive energy. small rooms, not much space for bags etc. and i didnt really feel super comforable here due to poor bathrooms and uncomforatble beds.

The bad thing about this hostel is that they nickel and dime you for things like Internet and a lock on your locker. The top bunk was also quite rickety. The staff was quite nice though and the location is conveniently located and in a good neighborhood.

Stayed in this hostel over the New Year and would defo recommend it. Staff were great, rooms big and clean. The pasta dinner on the Friday and Saturday was great (and saved us a lot of money!). Excellent choice of food for breakfast.
