The hostel staff was very friendly and helpful and available 24 hours. The location of the hostel is nice, about 2 minute walk to metro station that takes you just about anywhere in the city, and very close (walking distance) to the Colosseum and other sights in that area. It is also just a 15 minute walk from Termini station. The only down side to this hostel was the bathroom...which was very damp and smelled a little funny, as there was no vent or fan...but its really not that bad.

Loved the pasta nights. The bathroom drain was super slow and we had to pay to use the internet. Also, some of the people on staff couldn't care less about helping those with questions. It was very intimidating. Location is ok, but just a little too far out.

very difficult to find, no big sign that says it's there. a bit skanky as well, and they didnt have enough blankets for everyone, so I froze as I slept. did its job as a place to sleep, but nothing special.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pasta dinners were nice and breakfast consisted of cookies, toast, and coffee. Very good location - only about a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum.

It was a far walk from the city center to want to do anything at night. The bathrooms were dirty, every time someone took a shower the entire bathroom was soaked from top to bottom. I got bitten multiple times in the bed. Breakfast was just toast and cookies. The staff wasn't very helpful, kind of resentful when I asked them questions. You had to pay for internet- 50 cents for half hour!

Hostel is good. Both locations are clean and nice. Secret Gardens has an impressive terrace. The staff was the best part. Francis in particular, but everyone in general. My only criticism is MORE FOOD ON FOR DINNER :).

The kitchen was great - really well-equipped. We also liked the book library and DVD collection. Lockers in rooms were good. The man who checked us in was great - gave us a map and marked on it with little drawings where we could find the supermarket/places to eat/things to see. However, the bathrooms were very damp and a bit mouldy - they could do with a good clean.

I thought it was a great hostel. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and about 3 minutes from Palazzo del Freddo which is the oldest gelato factory in Rome (and very cheap). The free dinner on Fridays and Saturdays was delicious, though on Friday there wasn't enough but I think that's because a lot of people were checking in as dinner started and wanted to eat too. Had a great conversation with the hostel clerk Frances and he even gave my friends free wine! I loved this hostel.

The staff were really friendly at our hostel, but the only problem was that I had to switch rooms every single night for my 3-week stay. The free pasta dinners were delicious, I just wish they made enough for everyone! Kitchen facilities were amazing, wifi worked very nicely and I was glad they had a few computers for printing too. Right near a metro stop and the Colosseum! And take advantage of the 50-cent glasses of wine--you have to ask ahead of time though :P

IT was swell! I guess there's nothing to do about my roommates who snore like hibernating monsters, but over all it was nice. The blankets are thin and don't really do much so I slept in all my jackets. Otherwise, very chillsauce.

Bunk beds were very unsturdy. Top bunk mattress was supported by wood planks held in place by plastic zip ties. Had a bed in a 6-person room. A tiny bathroom was inside the room and was poorly ventilated and reeked of mildew. There were no hooks on the walls or spots to place clothes while showering.

Very friendly staff. Eager to get to know you and help you plan your stay. Clean kitchen and rooms. The washroom had mould. Lockers. A lot of space in rooms. Location close to metro and 15min walk to Colleseum.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. But the bathroom smelt so bad it had me dry reaching while brushing my teeth. Also the bunks were these weird fold away things that made so much noise you didn't feel comfortable moving in them for the risk of waking other guests. This was strange because they could have fitted proper bunks. The kitchen was small but looked well equip. although the common area was narrow so not very good for being meeting other travelers.

All in all a good place to stay. It is quiet. There isnt really a common room, so may be hard to meet people. The breakfast is good, and its close to the colloseum. The sign is extremely small, so look for a fried chicken place and a place selling snacks.

Nice, clean fun hostel with helpful and friendly staff. Only complaint was that two of the 3 mornings there was the same Greenday album blasting, and that the top bunk in the 6-bed dorm was really uncomfortable. But the single bed in the 4-bed dorm was totally fine. They also didn't mind me hanging out in the hostel after check-out before I needed to catch my flight home.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It's a little out of the city centre but it's location is manageable. There was free breakfast and free dinner both days i was there. The girls dorm had a very clean bathroom and even a small private balcony. Best hostel experience I've had so far
