The staff ignored us upon arrival for a good 20 minutes, not even a simpe "ciao". And then continued to ignored afterwards. Although our room was nice, the staff really is what makes or breaks your stay while traveling, so it is unfortunate they were so unfriendly and unhelpful to us.

The location of the hostel is very convenient - 10 mins from the main Termini station and the Colosseum. The staff was quite friendly. We were not put up in the main hostel building, but in a nearby one. The room was very clean. There was a private bathroom for the room on the next floor, which was a bit inconvenient. Also the door couldn't be locked from inside. Otherwise the hostel is good value for money.

The stay was a complete disaster: The porter was drunk as we arrived and unfriendly. The dorms are very small and packed with as much beds as possible. After one night we moved to another hostel but got no refund for the other four three nights we payed in advance.

There is no elevator which kind of sucks. The staff was polite and very sweet! We stayed in the Secret Garden room #6 which was beautiful and cozy. I would recommend this location to people and if one is using the rapid/subway/ Circumsuviana then this place is perfect! We were close to the Coliseum and there was a grcoery store less than a bock away. The guy who owns the cafe next to the Secret Garden was nice as well and he makes an awesome espresso.

Very poor breakfast. I asked for a twin private room and received instead a double private room. We stayed there for 3 nights and they did nothing about it. I was very upset with this situation. In the end, they gave us a discount on payment because of their mistake. Funny staff. Free pasta on fridays and saturdays. Nice location, near to Colosseum.

A good place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Staff is great, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, and Friday dinner is fun.

Both the bathroom and room had a funky smell. The room was damp and pretty cold. It would have been nice for the heat to be turned up. Also, the drapes did not keep out ANY light so the room was very bright at night.

Stayed in a 6-bed dorm in the main hostel building, which was cosy - not much room between the beds - & clean. The bathroom attached to the room was a bit smelly (mouldy/musty) due to poor ventilation however everything worked & there was handsoap! Dinner was nice (Sat night) & there is a kitchen & narrow common area, supermarket & gelato factory place around the corner. Metro is close and hostel is still walking distance to Colosseum area with a nice cafe (cannoli!) on the way.

Ok location - 20 min walk to colloseum and termini station (good for early morning train trips). Staff was a bit disinterested and the wifi was poor - sitting on the stairs to chat to your parents on skype is a bit annoying. ALso, my bed was broken, nearly injured myself when i sat down and the planks fell down. But it is clean and basic and the price is right.

I stayed in this hostel for 4 nights with my boyfriend. We stayed in a private room in Secret Gardens building. The room was big and very nice but it was a bit damp. The room was clean. In the bathroom there was a bad smell, probably coming from drain; shower and fittings were old with some cracks, but the overall accomodation was ok. Staff was friendly.

This hostel is not located in a good neighborhood. We took a late night train into Rome and the walk from the train station to the hostel was absolutely terrifying. The night staff was not very helpful and spent most of their time on facebook. Although the hostel had three computers they were all broken. Our room reeked of bleach, mold, and new paint. Our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and was moldy. It was a place to sleep at night, but not an enjoyable one.

Ciak Hostel was a really nice hostel & I very much enjoyed my stay. The facility itself is kinda small, but definitely homey. Also, the room and facilities were really clean & the staff was REALLY nice and helpful with helping my group and I explore all Rome had to offer. The only disappointment was the breakfast as it was somewhat limited and didn't offer anything very exceptional. Overall though, great stay & experience w/ Ciak Hostel & would def recommend for future travleres to Rome.

Although it is very small, everyone seems to feel like cooperating preparing their food moving around each other. Everything you need, like oil, sugar, salt, herbs, etc. is there. You just need to get some fresh stuff in the supermarket and if you go online using the computer, you get 15 free minutes which stop automatically. I had the impression that if you want to use another 15 minutes later that this will be for free as well.

Very friendly staff but for some kind of reason they don't use their personal name communicating with email so it was not clear who I was writing back.

The hostel staff was very friendly and helpful and available 24 hours. The location of the hostel is nice, about 2 minute walk to metro station that takes you just about anywhere in the city, and very close (walking distance) to the Colosseum and other sights in that area. It is also just a 15 minute walk from Termini station. The only down side to this hostel was the bathroom...which was very damp and smelled a little funny, as there was no vent or fan...but its really not that bad.
