Shower was a bit difficult but staff were amazing, very helpful and allowed us to store our bags for the day whilst we waited for our bus. Carefree atmosphere with good security and good wifi. Breakfast was a bonus.

Lovely hostel and we loved the owner, really nice girl. The bar at the top is super nice and with a great view. Only thing I don't recommend is the tour company they work with we took the tour to hierve de agua natural springs and had to visit like 7 other places before them and it took ages. They also dropped us at a super expensive place for lunch and we couldn't go anywhere else. So look around for better companies or go there by yourself we only got 1 hour at the springs out of 9 hour tour.

After 11 months in Latin America this was our worst accommodation. We booked a 4 person dorm with ensuite. The mattresses are appalling, the springs poke through and they were almost unsleepable. The ensuite was located outside the room so all guests in the hostel used it. The worst thing was the staff and their friends who partied from 3am to 8am. We asked them to be quiet but they ignored us, keeping many guests awake all night. They didn't care - they wanted to party. The location is good.

Stayed here one night and arrived quite late so can't comment to much as we checked out first thing. Not much atmosphere and beds were really uncomfortable and moved around a lot when anybody moved. There's better hostels in Oaxaca.

Very nice hostal with a friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. Buy some mezcal over at 510 Abasolo from the union shop and you're on your way.

Booked into the Cielo Rojo for 2 days initially and ended up staying for near 3 weeks. One of my friends got sick during the stay and Su nursed her back to health all the while running an amazing hostel. The hostel is both a great place to chill (the roof on a nice day is perfect) and a great place to socialise and have a party. I was told In Mexico they have a saying "If it's on the table it's for everybody" and no hostel sums this up like the Cielo Rojo, a place for everybody. I'll be back!

We stayed 2 nights. The dorm beds were terrible because there are no real stairs to climb and they shake like boats on water! ToiletShowers generally are inconvinient and if hooks are missing and even toilet paper gets wet you could think of a better way to start your day...

Good value for money! The staff was very welcome besides we had to wait at the living room until 11 a.m. to do the check-in. The room's door was always open... but theres locker inside the room.

Great hostel and staff. Close to the centro. Has very relaxed atmosphere. Good breakfast included. Definately needs larger sign for late arrivals especially, but not hard to find. Enjoyed my stay a lot.

Place is amazing. Su and her family are so welcoming. Anything you require can be arranged and the hostel has a close-knit feel for socialising.

This hostel was extremely dirty. There were no sheets on the bed when we arrived and the mattresses were brown and had disgusting stains. The pillows were also dark brown and very thin, if you actually had a pillow on your bed. The hostess didn't seem to care about anything and had a cold personality. The layer of dirty slime on the shower floor was a lovely addition as well. We found a different hostel and just paid the first night.

The best hostel!

Overall a pretty good stay. The day trips that are offered are great and it's at a good price. There were people on the same trip who had paid twice as much. The main issue with this hostel is that the toilets don't work all the time which is a big problem. Also there are no lockers. There are four small ones for everyone if you're lucky enough to get one, but other than that there's nothing.

A very simple hostel. Beds and bathrooms were clean but not great. It was VERY quiet when I arrived, so I only ended up staying the night then moving on as I was hoping for a more social atmosphere. Good location in the centre. The dorm rooms don't even close which bothered me a little, but the main door is very secure.

Nice little place, very quiet internal courtyard, good bathroom to guest ratio, run by very friendly and relaxed staff, great breakfast, short walk to the zocalo and right next to a few bars, highly recommended, I booked 3 ended up staying 6 nights
