Absolutely no atmosphere, nothing was ever going on at all, no enthusiasm shown by any staff, didn't feel welcome at all. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Such a good hostel has a good vibe, it's really quite, had good wifi an epic kitchen. The staff were really friendly it was quite at night, even had extra blankets. Had a good breakfast, thanks so much for a lonely few days :)

This hostel was amazing! Very cool vibe. Easy to meet people. Above all the rooftop is dope. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything is in poor condition. Extremely uncomfortable mattresses, see-through sheets and thin blankets. Paint chipping off the walls. NONE of the toilets flush properly. The tables and chairs are about to fall apart. Breakfast is just cereal, toast and yogurt. Also, it's further from the zócalo, bar street, museums, AND from the bus station than most other hostels. This place is a bit cheaper than others but it's worth the extra $ to stay somewhere else.

Very chill laid back hostel in a great location. Clean, quiet, very secure and only the most amazing people passing through. Susana and her crew are great and super friendly and will make you feel right at home. Will definitely be staying here when I pass through Oaxaca again!

A good place to sleep and the staff did their best in trying to help. Nothing more than that though. No hot water most of the time, no atmosphere, not really any reason to hang out there. Did include a basic breakfast though, which was okay for the price.

Nice stay at the hostel, staff were nice and helpful, it's in a relatively good location close to most of the main attractions. Could maybe do woth a bit bigger chill out area as there is not to much to do at night in oaxaca and we ended up staying in some nights.

Susana and their sons are the best! I loved the hostal, the atmosphere was amazing! Definitely if I would go again to Oaxaca, Cielo rojo will be my hostal choice again. Kisses from Colombia

Me encantó hospedarme con ustedes!

A very nice cozy hostel in the heart of Oaxaca city! Susanna, the owner, is very cool and she tries to make everyone's stay lovely. We stayed in Cielo Rojo over Christmas and it was very cool, celebrating with the staff and guests. Susanna even organised a DJ! The hostel has one private room and several dorms, unfortunately only a few bathrooms, but it always seemed to work out when you needed a shower. The roof top area and patio are great, would be even better with more seats or couches!!!!

I enjoyed my stay with Cielo Rojo. They are conveniently located a few blocks away from the center, staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, and the hostel itself is spacious with well-planned community areas to facilitate social activities like playing pool, eating meals together and such. They also sell tours to various sights around Oaxaca. My only problem was with the bed - hard and uneven mattress made it hard to sleep, and occasional sticking out spring kept bothering me all night.

Amazing location in an amazing city. Staff are kind and helpful and the environment is nice and social. Only difficulty is that breakfast isn't served until 8:30, and is often later than that which is difficult if you have tours or activities planned. Otherwise a great spot!

I reserved one day but ended up staying 10 days, the hostel is only like 4 blocks from the centro so the location was great. Rooms are very basic but basic is good as long as it's clean which it was. Sue, the owner is awesome very chill and laid back. Breakfast was decent : yogurt, milk, toast and jam, cereal, coffee and tea. All in all good vibes and I would definitely stay there again

Nice hostel with a good location close to the zocalo. Due to a health issue I wasn't able to arrive on the day I was supposed to check in, and after sending an email it was no problem to move my booking 1 day, great service! Furthermore good wifi, nice large dorms and sufficient breakfast. Would stay here again.

If you want to get wasted with the hostel manager, this is the right place for you. Be aware though, breakfast will be served late the next morning. The hostel urgently needs a renovation. Before going to the toilet make sure the flush works. When I was there they repeatedly didn't work...

The staff here are amazing! The one lady that seems to be running the place is really relaxed and very helpful! She makes it feel like she is a friend rather than hostel staff. The place has a very nice relaxed atmosphere, cool common areas, free breakfast, excellent location, clean and good value.
