The good thing is the terrace and as it was very cold when we stayed there it didn't compensate for the general standard of the place. Very cold, bad beds, no windows in the dorm=bad air. We all got a cold as there were no places to get warm and the kitchen was not very nice.

nice atmosphere, but too many people in one dorm. especially in a dorm without windows, it caused the room to be smelly helpfull and nice staff, nice kitchens and bathrooms.but not enough kitchenspace for the number of people. in general good hostel!

The hostel was very dirty, specially the restrooms. The shower was included in the room of the toilette, and everythin got wet. There were just two toiletts for more than 12 people. The kitchen was ugly we even didn't cooked there because it smells very strong like chlor. You didn't got bed sheets. The rooms were really cold and if you would like to have it warmer you have to rent a oven for 20 Schekel. The only positiv point in this hostel was the security.

Citadel Hostel has a cool vibe and architecture, but the beds were extremely close to each other. When I would fully relax, my feet would touch another hostel sleeper's head! They have good kitchens here to cook if you like and a nice terrace with a beautiful view of the city. However, no alcohol is allowed so if you want to relax and have a beer here you have to go elsewhere.

Really nice and friendly hostel. Situated in the old city in the ebraic quarter. The building looks like has been dug in a hill and it is really nice. WI-FI free and kitchen clean. shower are a little bit narrow. I would really suggest it for visiting Gerusalem

The staff was amazing! So friendly and helpful. I stayed in the female dorm which was nice and warm. But unfortunately extremely smelly from the lack of air flow. The poor air quality didn't seem healthy and the smell seemed to come from a long term resident. This was the only negative thing in my experience, but should be addressed as it can be fixed.

Great and helpful staff, cosy and charming atmosphere, very centrally located in the Old City. The matresses in the dorms could be a bit more comfortable ,-).

Don't go to this place,.

:( sorry to hear that but remember you take what you pay for and your choice was the cheapest room and now we are considering a more strict age restriction because older people are hard to please in youth hostels sorry again

Hostel is nice if you don't consider the people working in. I would absolutely recommend it, it is charming, clean and located in a gorgeous area 30 minutes walk from the city center. But the workers are not welcoming, not helpful and very rude.

The room was very cold, and there was only a small space heater. Also, the sheets & comforters seemed old, and kind of dirty.

Overall, Citadel is a nice hostel in a great location in the Old City. Unfortunately though, the showers were not very nice - no curtain or separation wall, so water splashed everywhere inside the bathroom. Also, hot water supply was extremely limited, at least when we stayed there. Furthermore, one of the electricity plugs in our room constituted a serious security risk - such things simply should not happen...

We stayed for five nights in November. This hostel couldn't be more central or convenient, and I'd definitely recommend it to other travellers. Our ensuite room was fairly basic, but good value for what we paid. The shared areas were comfortable and relaxing, which is what you need in a city like Jerusalem!

Great location, easy to find, friendly and attentive staff Dorms are very cramped with low ceilings, but this fits the ancient character of the place Would recommend for lone travellers or friends in dorms Not for elderly/couples Good value for money Cool rooftop terrace

Great hostel in an amazing location, I would definitely recommend staying here, mostly for the views, character, and location of the place. This place is really special. Having said that, it was pretty run down in many ways. The first night the dorm was sold out so I paid more to stay in a single room which ended up having red stained sheets and red smears all over the walls. The dorm was much cleaner. Poor ventilation also and all the rooms next to the showers were mildewy.
