everything is as described on the hostel info. Mr. Rudy's information was very clear to reach the property. the secret garden with the open kitchen free drinking water, free fridge are the inhouse positive points. to be located so central is another important point specially if you need spend several days in this crowded capital. the only negative is the crazy gojek sounds which ride crazy on the main road hayam wuruk.

The hostel is not a thrill: bedrooms are pretty basic, the staff is not specially helpful and although it has a good location relative to some of the attractions of the city, the surrounding streets can be quitesketchy at night. But the real reason I gave such a low score to the hostel is that we have reasons to believe that one of the receptionists there arranged a taxi that willingly took a friend and me to a group of policemen that threatened to put us in jail if we didn't give them money.

Dear Guest, we don't know what is the reason that you believe we did that. We always advised and arranged "Blue Bird" reliable taxi for our guest(s), no other than that. This advise is also always included in our welcoming email. In case the taxi driver threatened you, I think that was the best opportunity for you to make a report to the police that you were threatened by them. Jakarta city has changed, police will be on your side if you you tourist(s), traveler(s) or foreigner(s). if you do nothing wrong you have nothing to fear.

Nice people, nice atmosphere. It is close to Gambir, but not in a neighbourhood with many shops or restaurants. There are a lot of mosquitos. It's definitely not the hostel's fault, it's just that there are a lot of mosquitos in that particular neighbourhood. One morning we found a cockcroach in our bedroom though. Also, the bathroom was not as clean as we expected (even from an Indonesian bathroom), especially the toiletseat. Overall we were a bit disappointed, but it was nothing too bad
