Good not too expensive hotel. Not very central, but within walking distance/short tram ride from city centre and main attractions.

Is a hotel rather than hostel in every respect, but it's a good one though.

The directions you are given when you book make it very difficult to find. My husband and I walked around for almost an hour trying to find the street. Our wifi didn't work, which was annoying as we needed to get in contact with people, and had to go to an internet cafe. Our stay was enjoyable other then that, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

Clean, large rooms, good location. A hotel, so the lack of fun was probably expected.

My girlfriend and I found Citotel Le Chantry to be above all, clean, spacious, and affordable. It is a hotel so you have to make your own fun but with the old town just 5 minutes walk down the road that isn't difficult. It takes to two trams to get there from the train station but the transport system is excellent in Bordeaux so that wasn't a problem.
